Jim Carrey to star in new comic book horror flick 'Aleister Arcane'
Jim Carrey is about to step into a different kind of role, starring in the new horror flick Aleister Arcane. He will also executive produce the film.

Carrey will work with Eli Roth, who will direct, Entertainment reported.

Steven Spielberg's company, Amblin Entertainment, will develop the film.

Aleister Arcane was first developed for a comic book by Steve Niles in 2004. The story follows a group of children who befriend an old man. The old guy dies, leaving a curse on the town and the kids with the burden of saving their families.

The movie will focus more on local Oklahoma horror television host Aleister Arcane, disliked by parents in the town. Terrifying and supernatural events begin to plague the small town when Arcane is forced off the air.

Variety reports that David Hobeman and Todd Lieberman of Mandeville Films will produce the movie with Michael Aguilar.

Paramount picked up the rights to the movie back in 2004, but they eventually lapsed.

Carrey, best known for his comedy roles in Liar, Liar, Bruce Almighty, Ace Ventura, Pet Detective and a long list of others, was seen most recently in Dumb and Dumber To in 2014. His directing credits include Knock Knock, The Green Inferno and two Hostel movies.

Which Oscar nominated, Emmy Award winning actor has been cast as Zordon in the upcoming "Power Rangers" movie?

Bryan Cranston has been officially cast as the mighty Zordon in the upcoming Power Rangers Movie.

The big news was made public on Twitter Tuesday night, on the official Power Rangers page, which stated, "The mighty #Zordon has officially been cast! Please welcome #BryanCranston to the #PowerRangersMovie."

Just last month, Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer said he imagines the studio can make up to six new Power Rangers films following next year's revival.

Cranston, a six-time Emmy winner and Oscar nominee, tweeted the news Tuesday, mentioning that Blue Ranger Billy Cranston was named after him.

"Excited to play #Zordon in the #PowerRangersMovie! T or F: #BlueRanger Billy Cranston was named after what actor? https://twitter.com/thepowerrangers," he posted.

The Breaking Bad star has a history with the Power Rangers dating back to the 1990s when he voiced Snizard and Twin Man on the television series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Entertainment reported.

The film's director, Dean Israelite reflected in May on the new Power Rangers story -- which will star singer Becky G as the Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as the Black Ranger, Dacre Montgomery as the Red Ranger, Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger and RJ Cycler as the Blue Ranger -- saying their new uniforms will express "metamorphosis."

The revival movie, due out in March 2017, will follow five normal high school students as they react to an impending alien invasion. They discover something powerful within themselves as they respond to the global threat, realizing it could be something that could save them all.
