Jennifer Lawrence to star in two-part adaptation of 'East of Eden'

Director Gary Ross has said his upcoming adaptation of John Steinbeck's 1952 novel East of Eden starring Jennifer Lawrence may be divided into two separate films. "We may break it in half, into one generation and the next. And that's what we're talking about now," Ross said during an interview at Loyola Marymount University School of Film and Television. The writer-director previously worked with Lawrence in the 2012-blockbuster film The Hunger Games. During the interview, he said East of Eden might be the first project he takes on since directing the adventure thriller. "It's one of the things that is sort of on my plate, [that] I'm interested in doing," he said of the film. "I'm not certain if it's the next movie. Part of that is my schedule. Part of that is Jennifer's schedule as well. But it's definitely something that we intend to do."

Minnie Driver quits Twitter after people body-shame her

Minnie Driver has announced her intent to take a break from Twitter after people body-shamed her. The 44-year-old had become the subject of ridicule earlier this week after she was photographed on vacation with her son Henry in Miami. The actress and mother looked healthy in a blue bikini, but many tweeted comments that denigrated her body and criticized her looks. The star expressed shock over the photos on her Twitter Wednesday. God some people are horrible: you try being photographed when you don't know it's happening, when you're on holiday with your kids.
She later posted that she plans to take a break from Twitter because of the negative comments. I'm out of this Twittersphere for a while. It's too mean sometimes, about your body , about your soul. Not worth it. Driver will next appear on film in Blackbird. The movie debuts in theaters on November 14.

Jennifer Garner: Ben Affleck is competitive sports parent

Actress Jennifer Garner says her husband, fellow actor Ben Affleck, gets a little worked up at his 8-year-old daughter Violet's basketball games. Garner said that while she's supportive of the children on both teams in the competition, her husband has more of a thirst for victory. "I clap for everyone who makes a shot on either team," she said, "because I feel like, good shot, great job. Meanwhile, he's freaking out and I'm constantly like, 'stop it!' "
"You know, he'll be saying, 'she's open! Do you see she's open?!'" Garner said of her husband. "It's like, 'Ben, they're eight. You're yelling at an 8-year-old little girl. She will see that Violet is open and she will get the ball to her when it's appropriate.' " Garner's latest film, Draft Day, was just released in theaters.

Mike Myers and wife Kelly Tisdale welcome baby girl

Mike Myers and wife Kelly Tisdale welcomed their second child, a girl named Sunday Molly, on Friday. "We couldn't be happier," the couple told People magazine in a statement.
Myers and Tisday announced their pregnancy in October just a month after the Shrek star told Deadline that saying that fatherhood is the greatest thing that can happen to a person is an understatement. "I am the happiest I have ever been in my life," he added. Myers and Tisdale married in 2010. The two welcomed their first child, a boy named Spike, in September 2011.
