Here's the Scoop...

Kudos to Jamie Foxx for saving a man from a burning car. Check out this story below. I don't know what I would have done in a situation like that. Probably something silly like asking for a picture or an autograph.

Be Well,

Whoopi Goldberg sounds off on Oscar diversity controversy
Former Oscar winner Whoopi Goldberg has spoken out against the recent boycott of the Academy Awards and has given her opinion as to why the nominee's suffer from a lack of diversity.

Goldberg opened up about the situation Tuesday on The View explaining to viewers why she disagrees with Jada Pinkett Smith's and Spike Lee's boycott of the awards show and why a lack of diversity in the film industry should be discussed yearlong.

"Why is this a conversation that we only have once a year," she asked her co-hosts. "Every year we get all fired up and the rest of the year nobody says anything."

The comedian then explained how Hollywood as a whole is to blame for the lack of diversity and not the Academy who votes on which movies, actors and filmmakers gets nominated.

"It's not that the problem is that the people who are nominated are too white. They're not looking at a movie and saying, 'Oh, that's very white. I'm not going to nominate that black movie.' They're not sitting there like that!" Goldberg said.

"In the history of movies, there has not been a plethora of black movies made, because people think we don't want to see movies with black people in them," she continued. "So, until you start making movies like The Avengers with more than 70 white folks saving the earth - and I am mad about this, you know why? Because I would like to be one of those people saving the earth, but they're not coming to me!"

Goldberg ended by stating how the boycott is unfair to this year's Oscars host Chris Rock. "Chris Rock is the host of the Academy Awards and so to boycott him seems just as bad as what everybody is saying," she said. "We have this conversation every year and it pisses me off."

On Saturday, Rock joked about the nominations tweeting "The #Oscars. The White BET Awards," alongside a video promoting the ceremony.

The Academy president Cheryl Boone also discussed the lack of African-American nominations recently mentioning how she is "heartbroken and frustrated about the lack of inclusion."

10,000 sign petition to stop which rapper from singing Bowie songs?

Jamie Foxx pulls driver from burning car in front of his home
Representatives for Jamie Foxx confirmed that the actor pulled a man from a burning car in front of his home on Monday night.

At about 8:30 p.m. Foxx, 48, pulled driver Brett Kyle, 32, out of his burning vehicle, which caught fire after it skidded off the road and flipped near Foxx's Los Angeles home.

"Two witnesses that were near the collision scene ran to the burning overturned truck in an attempt to free the driver, police told People. "One of the witnesses retrieved a rescue tool from his vehicle allowing the two citizens to break the window, cut the seat belt and extricate the driver."

A member of Foxx's team later confirmed his involvement in the rescue to ABC News.

"Jamie didn't hesitate," they said. "He jumped out and ran to the car."

The driver was arrested for driving under the influence, and taken to the hospital after suffering injuries. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

10,000 sign petition to stop which rapper from singing Bowie songs?

More than 10,000 people have signed an online petition urging rapper Kanye West to stay away from the late David Bowie's music.

West has not confirmed he's working on singing some of Bowie's famous songs from the 70s, 80s and 90s, but based on reports that he is, about 10,000 netizens have signed the U.K.-based petition created by a user by the name of Peter Piranha.

"David Bowie was one of the single most important musicians of the 20th and 21st century," the petition's description reads. "It would be a sacrilege to let it be ruined by Kanye West."

News of the online campaign comes shortly after an article published in the Daily Star on Wednesday quoted an anonymous source as saying West is working on covering Bowie's music.

"Some are straightforward cover versions with Kanye actually singing. On others he is rapping with his own lyrics over Bowie's music," the source said.

After David Bowie's death on Jan. 10, West did take to Twitter to express his condolences. "David Bowie was one of my most important inspirations," he tweeted on Jan. 11. "So fearless, so creative, he gave us magic for a lifetime."
