Hi Everyone,
Many
of you wanted me to insert a picture of myself, so here you have
it -and now I'm making this issue ALL
about ME! Yep, I'll tell you all a bit about myself, and my
favorite hints I use all time :) Enjoy this issue...
I've worked here at Gophercentral for the past 10
years. I have two cats (Max & Opie), play pool competitively
2x a week, enjoy reading, love being an Aunt (2
nieces, 1 nephew) and will be welcoming
another niece or nephew in May, spending time with family &
friends, fests, playing cards, and LOVE the NY Yankees :)
Enough?? Good...Now to my top hints & tricks I love.
Be Handy,
Holly
Hint #1:
Baking soda is my stovetops best friend.
I admit I love cooking, but can really create a mess in the
kitchen. I'll have burnt sauce
caked on the stove, which we all know can be a pain in the butt
to remove. Here's what I do: give the stovetop a quick wipe down
with a damp rag. Take out the baking soda and sprinkle on the
stains and let sit for 10 minutes. With a wet rag
or sponge (I prefer a sponge with a coarse side) gently rub the
stain. It magically lifts the stain. Depending on the stain it
may require you to repeat.
Hint #2:
I always have lemons on hand. Lemons are great for everything. I always have two in
my refrigerator, and not just to use for meals. I love taking a
few slices and adding them to a pot of water and simmer. It
makes my whole kitchen smell lemony fresh. I also use them in
the microwave to eliminate smells, and will do the same in the
refrigerator - squeeze a slice a lemon on a few cotton balls and
place in the back of the fridge.
BONUS HINT: I love using
natural, non-toxic products while cleaning my house. I take a spray bottle fill half
with vinegar and the other with water. I use it for everything:
kitchen, bathroom, mirrors, EVERYTHING. Not only is it safer for me, but
is also safe for my cats in case they ingest it. For spots that
need scrubbing you can sprinkle baking soda or salt to help
remove stain.
