Howard Stern goes public about cancer scare

Howard Stern is discussing his cancer scare for the first time.

The 65-year-old radio personality recalled his health scare and the fear he felt in the May 13 issue of The Hollywood Reporter.

Stern alarmed fans in May 2017 after cancelling an episode of The Howard Stern Show, but said at the time he had the flu. He actually canceled the show after doctors discovered a growth on his kidney.

The Howard Stern Show host was told there was a 90 percent chance the growth was cancerous.

"And now all I'm thinking is, 'I'm going to die,'" he recalled. "And I'm scared."

Stern underwent surgery, where doctors discovered the growth was a harmless cyst. Stern said the experience made him reconsider his life regardless, and also inspired his new book.

"I'm at a place now where I am trying to figure out how to spend the rest of my life, however long that might be," the star said.

"It seems weird to me not to have this," he added of the possibility of retirement after his contract with SiriusXM ends in 2020.

Stern shared plans for Howard Stern Comes Again, his first book in more than 20 years, in March. The book comes out May 14 and will explore Stern's personal growth and his favorite interviews.

"This is about my evolution and this is about my interviews," he said at the time. "I started talking about the process and I started talking about my life and some of the things that have happened."

Stern has hosted The Howard Stern Show since 1986 and previously published the books Private Parts (1993) and Miss America (1995). He intends Howard Stern Comes Again to be his final book.

Don Johnson, Regina King prepare for conflict in 'Watchmen' trailer

Don Johnson, Regina King prepare for conflict in 'Watchmen' trailerHBO released a trailer for its new comic-book adaptation Watchmen on Wednesday.

"We are no one. We are everyone and we are invisible. Tick, tock. Tick, tock. Tick, tock," a man reminds his fellow masked cohorts in the 70-second preview.

"We convinced ourselves that they were gone, but they were just hibernating," Don Johnson, who plays Police Chief Judd in the series, tells a group of lawmen.

The rest of the clip shows characters -- including those played by Regina King, Jean Smart and Jeremy Irons -- preparing for battle.

Based on the graphic novels by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons, the superhero drama is slated to debut on the cable network this fall. It will co-star Tim Blake Nelson, Tom Mison, Louis Gossett Jr. and Frances Fisher.

A Watchmen film featuring Billy Crudup, Carla Gugino, Malin Akerman, Jackie Earle Haley, Matthew Goode, Patrick Wilson and Jeffrey Dean Morgan was released in 2009.

What's been really nice about working through it, and for me it was with a social worker and then with several therapists and mentors, I realized that it's a part of me and it's not going away so I might as well learn how to work with it and cope with it."

Jason Momoa says he's 'really passionate' about 'Aquaman 2'

Aquaman star Jason Momoa says he's "really passionate" about the sequel.

The 39-year-old actor shared details about the upcoming movie during Wednesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Momoa debuted as Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman, in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and returned as the superhero in Justice League (2017). He also starred in the Aquaman solo film, which opened in theaters in December.

"I was really, really, really passionate to do the second one," Momoa told host Ellen DeGeneres. "It's the first time where it's all on Earth, dividing land and sea. There's no outside alien destroying Earth; it's us.

"I was excited to get back in there, so I've been working with our previous writer," he said of David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick. "We've got a locked story and we're getting into it. I think it's going to be in two years, or whatever. The beard will be back by then."

Momoa shaved off his beard in April to promote the use of aluminum cans over plastic water bottles. He has developed his own line of water that uses aluminum cans.

The original Aquaman is directed by James Wan and co-stars Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, Patrick Wilson and Nicole Kidman. Warner Bros. announced in February Aquaman 2 will open in theaters Dec. 16, 2022.

"It's going to be amazing," Momoa said of the sequel in an interview with Extra in February.

Which celebrity brought a wax replica of his head to the Met Gala 2019?

Jared Leto walked the pink carpet at the 2019 Met Gala while holding a wax replica of his head.

The head resembled the actor and Thirty Seconds to Mars singer, complete with blue eyes, matching beard and long hair.

Leto carried the head around the event on Monday as he donned a long, red silk gown from Gucci that featured a turtleneck and was covered in silver jewels.

Ezra Miller was also turning heads at the Met Gala, as he carried around a mask on a stick --which resembled his own face -- to go with his pin-stripped, black, white Burberry suit and a cape.

Miller's makeup stood out as his face was peppered with detailed eyeballs, with a pair set below his eyes, one placed above his eyebrows and two more at the top of his forehead.

The theme of the 2019 Met Gala was camp. The yearly New York fashion showcase also featured Nick Jonas and his wife Priyanka Chopra appearing for the first time as a married couple after they reconnected at the Met Gala last year.
