Greetings Infomaniacs,

One of the main reasons for the Revolutionary War was King George III's order for British soldiers to disarm the colonists. Since that time the right of the people to keep and bear Arms has been deeply ingrained in American law and culture.

But that hard-won right has come with a heavy price.
