Here's the Scoop...

See...they're just like us! Big Little Lies star Reese Witherspoon went bowling with her co-stars Sunday. Why that's news, I have no idea.

The 42-year-old actress enjoyed an outing with Nicole Kidman, Shailene Woodley and Meryl Streep amid production on Season 2 of the HBO series.

Witherspoon, who plays Madeline Mackenzie on the show, shared a photo Monday on Instagram of herself, Kidman, Woodley and Streep taking to the lanes.

"We work and we play! Bowl-a-Rama party with the ladies of #BigLittleLies! @nicolekidman #MerylStreep @shailenewoodley," she captioned the picture.

Witherspoon also posted photo booth snapshots with Woodley and co-star Zoe Kravitz on Instagram Stories.

"We had fun!" she wrote, adding tears of laughter emojis.

The Big Little Lies cast started filming Season 2 in March. The show, which is based on the Liane Moriarty book, was originally envisioned as a miniseries, but was renewed for a second season in December.

Witherspoon, Kravitz and co-star Laura Dern also came together Saturday to see Woodley's movie Adrift.

"WHAT TRUE SUPPORT AND SISTERHOOD LOOKS LIKE. i feel so shown up for. #adrift @adriftmovie," Woodley captioned a photo with her co-stars.

I'm sure bowling with Meryl Streep was thrill-a-minute.

Be Well,
Steve

Miss America drops swimsuit competition: 'We are no longer a pageant'
Miss America is dropping the swimsuit portion of its competition nearly 100 years after the annual event began.

Miss America chairwoman Gretchen Carlson said on Tuesday's episode of Good Morning America that the organization is ending the portion to redirect focus from candidates' physical appearance to their achievements.

"We are no longer a pageant," the 51-year-old television commentator and former Miss America winner said. "We are a competition."

"We will no longer judge our candidates on their outward physical appearance. That's huge. And that means we will no longer have a swimsuit competition," she said.

Miss America also plans to revamp the evening gown portion of its competition. Women of all shapes and sizes are encouraged to participate as candidates.

"We're no longer judging women when they come out in their chosen attire, their evening wear," Carlson said. "Whatever they choose to do, it's going to be what comes out of their mouth that we're interested in."

"We want to be open, transparent, inclusive to women who may not have felt comfortable participating in our program before," she explained of the change. "We're interested in what makes you you. Tell us about your goals and achievements in life."

Miss America 2018 winner Cara Mund shared the news Tuesday on the Miss America official Twitter account.

"We're changing out of our swimsuits and into a whole new era #byebyebikini #MissAmerica2019," she wrote.

The 2019 Miss America competition will take place in September.

'Shadowhunters' canceled by Freeform, will end with third season
Freeform has canceled its supernatural series Shadowhunters, announcing that the show's third season will be its last.

The second half of Season 3, consisting of 12 episodes, is set to arrive on Freeform in spring 2019. The series will end with a special, two-hour finale, Variety reported.

The show, inspired by the Mortal Instruments young adult book series by Cassandra Clare, follows the adventures of Shadowhunter Clary Fray (Katherine McNamara) as she discovers her heritage as a human-angel hybrid who hunts demons.

Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, Matthew Daddario, Emeraude Toubia, Isaiah Mustafa and Harry Shum Jr. also star.

McNamara, Daddario and Shum Jr. each expressed their thoughts concerning the cancellation on Twitter.

"My dear angels, we just found out too - and believe me we are as shocked as you," McNamara said. "Truly, this show has been a treasure. I fell in love with this story and its mythology instantly."

"Playing Clary has been an honor and a joy. She is such a specal, strong lady (some might say short, redheaded and bad-tempered) - thank you for entrusting her to me and coming on this journey with us," she continued before promising a memorable finale.

"It has been an absolutely wonderful experience getting to be part of Shadowhunters for the past three years," Daddario said. "After all of it, I hope I have fulfilled my promise of being the best Alec Lightwood you could ask for."

"First, I want to say thank you to the INCREDIBLE fans from all over the world! This has been an amazing journey being part of @ShadowhuntersTV & to have the opportunity to play the incomparable Magnus Bane. I am so proud of our magical cast, crew & writers for 3 wonderful seasons," Shum Jr. said.

Dolly Parton is getting her own Netflix series
Netflix announced Monday it ordered eight episodes of an anthology series starring and executive produced by Dolly Parton.

Each episode of the as-yet-untitled show will be based on one of Parton's country classics.

No debut date for the series has been set.

"As a songwriter, I have always enjoyed telling stories through my music," the 72-year-old Tennessee native said in a statement. "I am thrilled to be bringing some of my favorite songs to life with Netflix. We hope our show will inspire and entertain families and folks of all generations, and I want to thank the good folks at Netflix and Warner Bros. TV for their incredible support."

Netflix also is the home of the comedy Grace & Frankie, which co-stars Parton's 9 to 5 castmates Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.

Which Oscar-winning filmmaker has started filming 'The Mule' with Bradley Cooper?

Clint Eastwood began shooting his movie The Mule Monday, Warner Bros. Pictures announced.

Eastwood, 88, also co-stars in the drama with his daughter Alison and Bradley Cooper, who starred in his 2015 blockbuster American Sniper.

This is the first time Eastwood is acting and directing a movie since 2009's Gran Torino.

The ensemble of The Mule includes Laurence Fishburne, Michael Peña, Dianne Wiest, Taissa Farmiga and Ignacio Serricchio.

"Eastwood stars as Earl Stone, a man in his 80s who is broke, alone, and facing foreclosure of his business when he is offered a job that simply requires him to drive," a synopsis said. "Easy enough, but, unbeknownst to Earl, he's just signed on as a drug courier for a Mexican cartel. He does well -- so well, in fact, that his cargo increases exponentially, and Earl is assigned a handler. But he isn't the only one keeping tabs on Earl; the mysterious new drug mule has also hit the radar of hard-charging DEA agent Colin Bates. And even as his money problems become a thing of the past, Earl's past mistakes start to weigh heavily on him, and it's uncertain if he'll have time to right those wrongs before law enforcement, or the cartel's enforcers, catch up to him."

The Mule is being filmed primarily in Georgia and New Mexico.

Eastwood's other movies include Unforgiven, Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River, Letters from Iwo Jima, Every Which Way But Loose, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Dirty Harry and Two Mules for Sister Sara.
