Royals request 'respect' amid report Thomas Markle won't attend wedding
Kensington Palace issued a statement Monday following a report Meghan Markle's father won't attend her wedding to Prince Harry.

Britain's royal family requested "understanding and respect" be extended to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry amid an unspecified "difficult situation."

"This is a deeply personal moment for Ms. Markle in the days before her wedding," the statement read.

Earlier Monday TMZ reported her father, Thomas Markle, would not attend the wedding after it was revealed he allowed a photo agency to take staged pictures of him preparing for the wedding.

The report stated he grew to regret the photos and decided not to attend the wedding as not to embarrass the royal family or his daughter.

In an interview on British TV network ITV, Meghan Markle's half-sister, Samantha Markle, said she urged their father to stage the photos to help improve his image.

"I said the world has no idea that you're getting in shape and doing healthy things," she said. "They don't photograph you buying vegetables and pH water, they photograph you in as unflattering ways as they can. I said, 'Really you need to show the world you are getting in shape and doing great, healthy things.' So I suggested it."

Samantha Markle also dismissed the idea that her father had been paid to take the photos.

"I do not believe so. That was not the motive -- it was my suggestion," she said. "I have no idea. But if he did, I am going to assume it was a pittance -- they don't pay that much. It really was so the world could see him doing the healthy things."

Taraji P. Henson engaged to boyfriend Kelvin Hayden
Taraji P. Henson is engaged to be married.

The 47-year-old actress announced in an Instagram post Monday that she said "yes" to her boyfriend, former NFL player Kelvin Hayden, Sunday on Mother's Day.

Henson is parent to 24-year-old son Marcel Johnson with late ex-boyfriend William Johnson. She showed off her diamond engagement ring in a photo from her Mother's Day celebration with Hayden.

"I said yes y'all!!! He started with the Cartier love bracelet BUT that was my #Mothersday gift and then he dropped to his knee and I almost passed out!!! #sheisofficiallyoffthemarket and she is sooooooooooooo HAPPY!!!!!! #GODIS," the star wrote.

Henson was first linked to Hayden in December 2015 after photos surfaced of her holding hands with the former Chicago Bears player. She confirmed the relationship on Essence's Yes, Girl! podcast in December.

"I'm happy in my personal life. Finally it has happened to me!" the actress said.

"I'm not the type to blast my personal business, but you know, I think that it's important for people to know that I'm happy. I'm very, very happy. I just am. We've been together for two years," she added.

Henson is known for playing Cookie Lyon on the Fox series Empire. The show co-stars Terrence Howard, Bryshere Y. Gray, Jussie Smollett and Trai Byers, and was renewed for a fifth season this month.

Nintendo bringing back NES Classic in June
Nintendo is bringing back its previously discontinued retro console, the NES Classic, on June 29.

The NES Classic, which retails for $59.99, was released in fall 2016 before it was succeeded by the SNES Classic in fall 2017.

The standalone console comes with 30 classic games from the '80s and early '90s including Super Mario Bros. 1 and 3, Donkey Kong, The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Pac-Man, Final Fantasy, Kirby's Adventure and more.

The NES Classic is packaged with one wired controller, an AC adapter and an HDMI cable that allows the throwback games to be displayed in high-definition.

Nintendo, in their announcement on Twitter, also confirmed that the SNES Classic would be made available alongside the NES Classic throughout the rest of the year.

'Project Runway' returning to Bravo for Season 17
Fashion design reality series Project Runway is returning to its original network Bravo for Season 17 after appearing on Lifetime since 2008.

Bravo network star Andy Cohen made the announcement Monday at the NBCUniversal Upfront event in New York City and on Twitter.

"Project Runway is coming back where it all started, it's coming home on Bravo," he said.

Project Runway is moving back to Bravo through an agreement by Bravo Media and Lantern Entertainment whose bid to acquire assets of The Weinstein Company was approved in Delaware bankruptcy court on May 8.

The Weinstein Company, which helped produce Project Runway, filed for bankruptcy in February after it failed to negotiate a sale of the film studio, which was founded by disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein and his brother Bob Weinstein.

Project Runway, featuring host Heidi Klum and mentor Tim Gunn, moved to Lifetime in 2008 after airing for five seasons on Bravo. Lifetime parent company A + E Television Networks terminated its contract for Project Runway in January after Harvey was hit with sexual harassment allegations.

"We are beyond excited to reboot Project Runway at the network where it all began. Leaning into the creative process in an entertaining way has always been part of Bravo's DNA, and Project Runway perfectly captures that," said President of Lifestyle Networks, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment Frances Berwick in a statement. "This franchise will be an important cornerstone to complement Bravo's original premium scripted and unscripted slate, and we expect it to drive the same level of fan-dom and passion as we experienced last time it was on Bravo."

Project Runway Season 16 wrapped up in November with Japanese designer Kentaro Kameyama coming in first place, taking home $100,000 to start his own fashion line.

Which television show received a Hollywood Walk of Fame honorary plaque?

The Love Boat stars Gavin MacLeod, Bernie Kopell, Fred Grandy, Ted Lange, Lauren Tewes and Jill Whelan reunited this week for a Hollywood Walk of Fame plaque dedication honoring their beloved show.

A plaque was dedicated to the real-life Princess Cruise line and the actors who played the fictional crew of one of its luxury liners in front of the Dolby Theatre Thursday where preparations were being made for the premiere of the movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story.

Unlike stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which are located on public sidewalks, the honorary plaques are installed on private property.

The Love Boat, with its endless roster of celebrity guest passengers, initially ran 1977-86 on ABC.

"We were called mindless television," MacLeod remembered some critics saying.

Referring to how the show remains popular in re-runs, he said, "We're still out there doing it."
