Jay-Z subpoenaed to testify about Rocawear buyer
Jay-Z has been subpoenaed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, which wants the rapper to testify about the company that purchased his Rocawear clothing line.

Iconix paid Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, more than $200 million for Rocawear in 2007. The SEC is investigating whether Iconix violated trading laws related to financial reporting and says that the company maintained a relationship with Jay-Z after the sale.

The SEC subpoenaed Jay-Z in November 2017 and then again in February 2018, however, the music star didn't testify about his dealings with Iconix. The SEC has asked the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York to force Jay-Z to testify.

"We are aware that the SEC is seeking information on Iconix's financial reporting," a rep for Jay-Z told CNBC. "Mr. Carter had no role in that reporting or Iconix's other actions as a public company. Mr. Carter is a private citizen who should not be involved in this matter."

Roman Polanski, Bill Cosby ousted from Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences
The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences announced Thursday it has expelled Oscar-winning filmmaker Roman Polanski and comedian Bill Cosby as members.

The academy's board said it voted Tuesday night to oust both men who have been accused of sexual violence. The move comes months after it gave the boot to producer Harvey Weinstein, who has been accused of harassment and abuse by dozens of women.

"The board continues to encourage ethical standards that require members to uphold the Academy's values of respect for human dignity," the academy said in a statement, announcing the expulsion of Polanski and Cosby.

Polanski, 84, won the academy's Best Director Oscar in 2003 for his Holocaust drama The Pianist.

The French-born filmmaker did not collect his Oscar in person at the Los Angeles gala because a warrant was out for his arrest in connection with the 1977 sexual assault of a girl, who was 13 years old at the time. He pleaded guilty to the offense decades ago, but fled the United State before he could be sentenced.

Despite the widespread media coverage of the case, Harrison Ford announced Polanski was voted Best Director at the ceremony and celebrities such as Weinstein, Meryl Streep, Martin Scorsese, Jack Nicholson, Adrien Brody and Nicolas Cage stood and applauded. Polanski's other films include Rosemary's Baby, Chinatown, Frantic and The Ghost Writer.

Former German actress Renate Langer told The New York Times last fall that Polanksi raped her in February 1972 when she was 15 years old. Polanski's lawyer said the director has no knowledge of the alleged incident.

Cosby, 80, was convicted last week on three charges of aggravated indecent assault for drugging and assaulting Andrea Constand in 2004 at his home outside Philadelphia. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and his first trial ended last June with a hung jury.

More than 60 women have accused the former television titan of assaulting them in alleged incidents going back decades.

Camille Cosby is standing by her husband and Thursday asked for a criminal probe of the prosecutor in his criminal case.

Christina El Moussa: Filming 'Flip or Flop' is 'awkward' after split
Christina El Moussa says filming Flip or Flop has been "beyond awkward" since her split.

The 34-year-old television personality discussed her dynamic with ex-husband and co-star Tarek El Moussa in a press release Thursday ahead of the HGTV show's return.

"This would be awkward for any exes," she said. "Since we have to see each other every day it's beyond awkward. I'm planning on staying friendly and keeping things light."

Christina and Tarek announced their split in December 2016 after seven years of marriage, but confirmed in April 2017 they would continue to collaborate on Flip or Flop.

"It's all new territory," Christina, who has two children with Tarek, said. "When our marriage fell apart it was more public than we could have imagined. But we're picking up the pieces and we'll still work together to support our kids."

Flip or Flop will return to television May 31. The 15 new episodes will follow Christina and Tarek as they flip houses and navigate their relationship as ex-spouses and business partners.

"Flipping houses puts us in the spotlight, and while it was tough before, now the pressure is really on," Tarek said. "We're still figuring out how all of this is going to work."

Christina is dating British television personality Ant Anstead, and celebrated her six-month anniversary with the Wheeler Dealers host this week.

"What an amazing six months it's been with this lady!" Anstead said in an Instagram post Monday. "Where has the time flown! I've loved every second I spend with her! She totally gets me (which is rare) and we have done so much in such a short time!"
