Here's the Scoop...

The latest 'Avengers: Infinity War' trailer dropped on Friday. I'm usually dismissive of trailers, but this one really got me. I can't wait to watch this!

Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Chadwick Boseman, Mark Ruffalo, Zoe Saldana and Robert Downey Jr. appear in the 2-1/2 minute trailer for Avengers: Infinity War released Friday.

Also spotted in the preview for the superhero ensemble picture were Chris Pratt, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen, Anthony Mackie, Karen Gillen, Paul Bettany, Don Cheadle and Tom Hiddleston.

Directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, the movie pulls together characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including the Iron Man, Captain America, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Strange and Black Panther movie to fight the supremely powerful villain Thanos, played by Josh Brolin.

One of the most memorable scenes in the clip shows Holland's wide-eyed Peter Parker/Spider-Man listening to Pratt's Peter Quill/Star-Lord and Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark/Iron Man talking strategy.

The film is set for release April 27.

For my money, April can't get here fast enough.

Be Well,
Steve

Ava DuVernay to direct 'The New Gods' for WB
A Wrinkle in Time and Selma filmmaker Ava DuVernay is to direct The New Gods, a superhero movie based on the DC Comics series created by the late Jack Kirby.

"'Our dreams make us large.' Thank you, #JackKirby," DuVernay tweeted Thursday.

Variety reported Warner Bros. hired DuVernay to helm the picture, which will be part of a DC Extended Universe that already includes Wonder Woman, Batman and Superman.

The Hollywood Reporter said The New Gods is about how a war between two alien planets ends up impacting Earth.

No casting or release date for the movie have been announced yet.

Kirby -- who was also co-creator of Marvel's Black Panther, Captain America and X-Men characters -- died in 1994.

Anderson Cooper says he split from boyfriend Benjamin Maisani
Anderson Cooper has called it quits with boyfriend Benjamin Maisani.

The 50-year-old television personality said in a statement Thursday to People that he and Maisani remain "the best of friends" after breaking up "some time ago."

"Benjamin and I separated as boyfriends some time ago. We are still family to each other, and love each other very much," he said. "We remain the best of friends, and will continue to share much of our lives together."

Us Weekly reported Cooper and Maisani, who were first linked in 2009, attended a benefit together March 10 in New York. The pair were spotted again at their home in Greenwich Village this week.

Cooper didn't share a reason for the split.

He told People in November that he's "definitely a workaholic."

"I'm off about one weekend a month. During the week I'm on CNN, and also work for 60 Minutes -- most of the weekends are traveling for CNN or 60 Minutes," the Anderson Cooper 360 host said.

"I think [Benjamin's] annoyed that I travel so much but he also knows how much I like it. He's kind of used to it," he added. "He's never asked me not to go somewhere. He's pretty understanding that the job requires travel, and he's cool with that."

Demi Lovato celebrates 6 years of sobriety: 'So grateful'
Demi Lovato is feeling "grateful" on the sixth anniversary of her sobriety.

The 25-year-old singer and actress said in a positive message Thursday on Twitter that it "IS possible" to get clean.

"Just officially turned 6 years sober. So grateful for another year of joy, health and happiness. It IS possible," she wrote after midnight ET.

Lovato followed up with another tweet Thursday morning.

"Today is a very special day for me... I'm officially celebrating 6 years of sobriety!! I'm so thankful to my family, friends and @castcenters for being a part of this journey. A huge part of my recovery was learning to love myself and to give back to others," she said.

Lovato co-owns Comprehensive Assistance Support Treatment (CAST) Centers with Mike Bayer. She announced in January that CAST Centers will offer free mental health counseling to fans prior to shows on her Tell Me You Love Me tour.

"CAST Centers is a treatment center and a wellness program," the star explained in an interview with Good Morning America.

"[It's] basically like a therapy session before the concerts," she said of her initiative. "We have speakers from all over and we're also helping out with different charities from around the country, so it'll be incredible and a very moving and inspiring experience."

Lovato completed treatment for substance abuse and an eating disorder in 2010, and later checked into a sober living facility. She said on the fifth anniversary of her sobriety in 2017 that she's "so proud" of her progress.

Alicia Vikander played 'Tomb Raider' to prepare for her role
Alicia Vikander appeared on The Tonight Show Wednesday where she discussed how she prepared for her latest film Tomb Raider and how she won a Swedish talent show at 8-years-old.

"I was happy when I got this job because I haven't played video games so much over the past 15 years but now I was able to," the actress said to host Jimmy Fallon about how she was a fan of the Tomb Raider video game series the film is based on and how she wasn't able to openly play video games as a child due to being a girl.

"I was so happy I bought a PlayStation and I just spent hours playing the game," she continued and said she happily played through the video game series in order to prepare for her role as Lara Croft.

Vikander also said she performed most of her own stunts on the action-adventure film which hits theaters on Friday.

Vikander, when discussing her career, mentioned how two years ago a video resurfaced of herself as a child appearing on a Swedish version of Lip Sync Battle that featured kids competing against each other for a gold trophy.

"All the other kids had Tina Turner and Michael Jackson, and I had this Swedish ballad," she said of the song she had to perform which led to her winning the competition.

Fallon shared a clip taken from the show which featured Vikander stating to the host that she wanted to be an actress when she grows up instead of a singer. "It's hard to choose. It's going to be one or the other," the younger Vikander says.

Which dancer will return to 'Dancing with the Stars'?

Witney Carson will return to ABC series Dancing with the Stars.

The 24-year-old professional dancer confirmed in an Instagram comment Wednesday that she "will" appear on the reality competition following her father-in-law's death from cancer.

Carson made the remark after posting that her first house with husband Carson McAllister is a "go." One fan asked the star if she will be selling or living in the house, and if she is "still doing DWTS."

"it's a fixer upper, and yes I'll still be doing the show :)," Carson responded.

Carson had dropped out of the Dancing with the Stars Live! tour in December amid father-in-law Kevin McAllister's battle with cancer. She announced March 9 that Kevin had "passed away" the night prior.

"Although it will be excruciatingly painful at times to live without him, we know he lives on around us being our guardian angel wherever we go. We're so grateful for the time we've had with him on this earth, & we know he's in a better place," the star said on Instagram.

Carson, who married her husband in January 2016, thanked fans for their support in a post Monday following Kevin's death.

"The amount of love has made my heart burst with gratitude and humility. Thank you so much for reaching out in this heartbreaking time, it means so much!" she wrote.

Carson debuted as a Dancing with the Stars pro in Season 18, and won the competition the next season. She was last partnered with actor Frankie Muniz in Season 25.
