Report: Danny Boyle in the running to direct Bond 25
MGM and Eon Productions reportedly are courting Slumdog Millionaire and T2: Trainspotting filmmaker Danny Boyle to direct the 25th James Bond caper.
Variety said Tuesday the film's producers are talking to Boyle, but have not made him a formal offer.
MGM declined to comment for the entertainment industry trade newspaper's report.
Daniel Craig is to return as the globe-trotting spy in the film, which is due in theaters Nov. 8, 2019, CinemaBlend noted. Craig previously appeared in the Bond films Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.
Sam Mendes directed the most recent 007 blockbusters Skyfall and Spectre, but has said he doesn't intend to helm another.
'Walking Dead' star Lauren Cohan joins new ABC pilot
The Walking Dead star Lauren Cohan has joined the cast of a new ABC pilot.
The 36-year-old actress will star in the action-dramedy Whiskey Cavalier with Scandal actor Scott Foley, an ABC rep confirmed Tuesday to TVLine.
Cohan will play Francesca "Frankie" Trowbridge, a "quick and cunning" CIA operative who is assigned to work with Will Chase (Foley), an FBI agent reeling from an "emotional breakup." The pair team up to lead an inter-agency team of spies.
The new pilot leaves Cohan's future as Maggie Greene on The Walking Dead uncertain. The actress' contract reportedly expires after Season 8, which ends April 15 on AMC.
Sources told The Hollywood Reporter Cohan has been negotiating with AMC over her potential Season 9 salary. She is reportedly "not happy" with the network's offers thus far, although she is not seeking parity with co-stars Andrew Lincoln and Norman Reedus.
Deadline reported Cohan may return to The Walking Dead on a recurring basis if her talks with AMC are successful. Sources said the show's production schedule "would not interfere" with Whiskey Cavalier.

The half-hour sitcom, which is now in its 11th season, stars Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar and Mayim Bialik as socially awkward scientists. Miranda Otto, Lucy Davis to play aunts on 'Sabrina' reboot
The Lord of the Rings alum Miranda Otto and Wonder Woman actress Lucy Davis are to play the aunts of Kiernan Shipka's teen witch Sabrina in Netflix's upcoming, as-yet-untitled drama.
Otto will play Zelda Spellman, described as "Sabrina's sterner witch aunt," while Davis will play Hilda.
"Proud and devout, Zelda believes there is no greater honor than serving the Dark Lord as a member of the Church of Night. She is the family's disciplinarian, fiercely protective of Sabrina, and very much Cain to Hilda's Abel," a news release said.
The streaming service has ordered 20 episodes of the hour-long show, which is based on the Archie Comics graphic novel, The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
Doctor Who favorite Michelle Gomez and newcomer Chance Perdomo joined the cast last week as Sabrina's teacher and cousin respectively.
Melissa Joan Hart starred in the sitcom Sabrina the Teenage Witch 1996 through 2003. In that incarnation, Caroline Rhea played Hilda and Beth Broderick played Zelda.
