'Charmed' reboot receives pilot order from The CW
The CW has handed out a pilot order for a Charmed reboot that will feature a new trio of witches.

"This fierce, funny, feminist reboot of the original series centers on three sisters in a college town who discover they are witches," reads the synopsis for the reboot.

"Between vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy, and maintaining familial bonds, a witch's work is never done.," it continues.

The reboot is being written by Jessica O'Toole and Amy Rardin who are also executive producing alongside Jane the Virgin boss Jennie Urman, noted The Hollywood Reporter.

CBS Television Studios is handling the project which will be directed by Brad Silberling who is also executive producing alongside Ben Silverman.

The original Charmed which starred Alyssa Milano, Holly Marie Combs and Shannen Doherty for three seasons before Rose McGowan came aboard, aired on The WB for eight seasons from 1998-2006. The WB was relaunched as The CW in 2006.

Combs previously said in July that she, Milano and McGowan will not be reuniting for a reboot.

The reboot is set to take place in the modern day after The CW president Mark Pedowitz announced plans in January to set the new Charmed series in 1976.

Gwyneth Paltrow: Chris Martin is 'like my brother' after divorce
Gwyneth Paltrow says ex-husband Chris Martin is like her "brother."

The 45-year-old actress discussed her relationship with the 40-year-old Coldplay singer on Thursday's episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert after announcing her engagement to producer Brad Falchuk.

"He's really like my brother," she said of Martin. "We're very familial. It's nice. It's great."

Paltrow and Martin announced their split, or "conscious uncoupling," in March 2014 after 10 years of marriage. Paltrow, who shares 13-year-old daughter Apple and 11-year-old son Moses with Martin, denied she and the singer are "more evolved" than others for remaining friendly after their divorce.

"Definitely not. No, but divorce is terrible. It was really painful," the star said.

"It was really hard, and I think we really genuinely wanted our kids to be as unscathed as possible. And we thought, if we could really maintain the family even though we weren't a couple, that was kind of the goal," she explained.

Paltrow confirmed her engagement to Falchuk this month in the new issue of Goop magazine. She spoke in the cover story about finding love again with the American Horror Story co-creator following her divorce.

"Personally, at midlife, I have tried to accept how complex romantic love can be," the actress said.

"I have decided to give it a go again, not only because I believe I have found the man I was meant to be with, but because I have accepted the soul-stretching, pattern-breaking opportunities that (terrifyingly) are made possible by intimacy," she explained.

??? Guess Who ???

Which singer and actress will play Aretha Franklin in a new biopic?

Paul Reiser on 'Mad About You' revival: 'We're still talking'
Mad About You co-creator and star Paul Reiser says the possibility of reviving the sitcom remains alive, but he doesn't have much news to report.

"We're still talking. Tough decision. But thank you all you nice people that have chimed in with nice things to say. We'll definitely keep you posted. #MadAboutYou," Reiser tweeted Saturday.

The show featured Reiser and Helen Hunt as the Buchmans, a young couple juggling marriage, friends and careers in New York City. It ran 1992-99 on NBC.

The television landscape lately has seen a spate of revivals. New seasons of the long-canceled shows Murphy Brown, Will & Grace, Roseanne, Gilmore Girls and Arrested Development have all recently been ordered with their original stars onboard, while CBS alone has rebooted S.W.A.T., Hawaii Five-0 and MacGyver with new casts, and reportedly is working on remakes of Magnum, P.I. and Cagney and Lacey.

Reese Witherspoon on Vanity Fair photo cover: 'I have three legs'
Reese Witherspoon and Oprah Winfrey have responded on Twitter to the extra limbs they appear to have in the latest issue of Vanity Fair.

Witherspoon and Winfrey appear on the cover and within the pages of Vanity Fair's recently released annual Hollywood issue that highlights some of the biggest stars in the industry.

Witherspoon, on the cover, appears to have three legs while she is seen sitting down with her arm around Oprah.

"Well...I guess everybody knows now...I have 3 legs. I hope you can still accept me for who I am," the actress said. "And I will never apologize for snuggling @Oprah .. if you get the opportunity, I highly recommend it;)."

Winfrey, meanwhile, in a behind-the-scenes photo found inside the magazine, appears to have three hands while she is seen with Witherspoon and Tom Hanks.

"I accept your 3d leg. As I know you accept my 3d hand," the media mogul said in response to Witherspoon's tweet.

Vanity Fair responded to the photo mishaps on Twitter stating that the appearance of a third leg on Witherspoon was due to the lining of her dress.

"As for @Oprah, how can we expect her to juggle it all with just two hands?" the magazine said. "We are correcting this error online."

??? Guess Who ???

Which singer and actress will play Aretha Franklin in a new biopic?

Jennifer Hudson will play the Queen of Soul, singer Aretha Franklin, in a new biopic.

Clive Davis announced Saturday at his pre-Grammy gala that Franklin, 75, handpicked the Dreamgirls star to portray her in the forthcoming film, according to Deadline.

Hudson, 36, performed Franklin's songs "Think" and "Respect" at the bash. Her medley followed performances from Barry Manilow, Luis Fonsi, Ben Platt, Alicia Keys, Khalid and Logic.

"And this guys ....... I don't even know what to say .... look at God!" she said of the news in an Instagram post. "#Arethafranklin u have no idea how humbled, I am!"

Entertainment Weekly confirmed MGM has acquired the rights to the biopic. Straight Outta Compton producer Scott Berstein and Dreamgirls music arranger Harvey Mason will produce the film.

The new movie is reportedly based on Franklin's memoir, Aretha: From These Roots. The singer told People in 2016 that she had spoken to the actress who will play her in the film, although she didn't share the person's name.

"I'm not going to say who I chose, but I've talked to her and she's ready and I'm happy with her," she said.
