Cranberries singer Dolores O'Riordan dead at 46
Dolores O'Riordan, lead singer of the Irish rock band The Cranberries, has died in London, her publicist said Monday. She was 46.

Her representative told the BBC in a statement the musician was in the British capital "for a short recording session."

"No further details are available at this time," the statement said. "Family members are devastated to hear the breaking news and have requested privacy at this very difficult time."

The band is known for its hit 1990s songs "Dreams," "Linger" and "Zombie." It toured for part of last year, but canceled numerous dates due to O'Riordan's "medical reasons associated with a back problem."

O'Riordan, who was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder, split from Don Burton, her husband of 20 years, in 2014. They have three children together.

The Independent newspaper cited police as saying they are investigating the death of a woman in her 40s, though they did not confirm her identity.

The death is being treated as unexplained.

Starz working on a series set in the 'John Wick' universe
Starz is developing The Continental, a Chris Collins-penned drama connected to Keanu Reeves' John Wick film franchise.

The possible series would focus on a hotel that serves as a refuge for assassins in a "hyper-real version of Los Angeles."

Collins would serve as showrunner if the pilot gets picked up and Reeves is on board as a producer, but the cable network did not say if he is expected to act in the project.

No casting has been announced yet.

Chad Stahelski -- who directed the first two John Wick blockbusters and is poised to helm the third -- is expected to direct the pilot.

The project was announced Friday by Starz President and Chief Executive Officer Chris Albrecht at the Television Critics Association Winter 2018 Press Tour.

"This series is truly unlike anything else on TV," Albrecht said. "The Continental promises to include the thunderous fight sequences and intensely staged shootouts between professional assassins and their targets that fans have come to expect in the John Wick movie franchise, as well as introducing some new, darkly compelling characters who inhabit this underground world."

AMC sets return dates for 'Fear the Walking Dead,' 'Into the Badlands'
Season 4 of the zombie-apocalypse drama Fear the Walking Dead is scheduled to debut April 15 on AMC.

"In Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead, we will see the world of Madison Clark [played by Kim Dickens] and her family through new eyes -- the eyes of Morgan Jones [played by Lennie James,] joining the story from the world of The Walking Dead," the cable network said in a news release. "The characters' immediate past mixes with an uncertain present of struggle and discovery as they meet new friends, foes and threats. They fight for each other, against each other and against a legion of the dead to somehow build an existence against the crushing pressure of lives coming apart. There will be darkness and light; terror and grace; the heroic, mercenary, and craven, all crashing together towards a new reality for Fear the Walking Dead."

This will be the first time a character from The Walking Dead, which takes place on a later timeline on the East Coast of the United States, will appear on the West Coast-set Fear the Walking Dead.

Season 3 of Into the Badlands is slated to kick off April 22.

It finds Daniel Wu's warrior character "living off the grid, doing his best to provide for his infant son, Henry, in the wake of Veil's death," a synopsis said.

The cast of the futuristic, feudal drama also includes Nick Frost, Emily Beecham, Stephen Lang, Orla Brady, Lorraine Toussaint and Eleanor Matsuura.

George Clooney to direct and star in Hulu series 'Catch-22'
George Clooney has signed on to star in and direct a six-part, Hulu adaptation of Joseph Heller's novel Catch-22.

The limited series is scheduled to go into production this year, with Luke Davis and David Michôd attached as co-writers and executive producers.

Clooney is to play Col. Cathcart. No other casting has been announced.

"Catch-22 is a rare story that has withstood the test of time, not only as a literary masterpiece, but as a story that still resonates in today's political and social conversation," Hulu Chief Content Officer Joel Stillerman said in a statement Sunday. "These are exactly the types of stories we want to be programming at Hulu, and we couldn't be happier to partner with George Clooney, Paramount TV and this phenomenal group of creatives to bring one of the most well-known books of all time to viewers in a way that has never been seen before."

Catch-22 is described in a news release as "the story of the incomparable, artful dodger, Yossarian, a U.S. Air Force bombardier in World War II who is furious because thousands of people he has never met are trying to kill him.

"But his real problem is not the enemy, but rather his own Army which keeps increasing the number of missions the men must fly to complete their service," the synopsis said. "Yet if Yossarian makes any attempt to avoid his military assignments, he'll be in violation of Catch-22, a hilariously sinister bureaucratic rule which specifies that a concern for one's own safety in the face of dangers which are real and immediate is the process of a rational mind; a man is considered insane if he willingly continues to fly dangerous combat missions, but a request to be removed from duty is evidence of sanity and therefore makes him ineligible to be relieved from duty."
