Here's the Scoop...

I guess there's an "Online Film Critics Society", I had no idea. There is though and they gave out awards.

Jordan Peele's Get Out was named Best Picture Thursday by the Online Film Critics Society.

Peele, who wrote and directed the social thriller, was also honored with the Original Screenplay award, Deadline reported.

Other winners included Gary Oldman winning Best Actor for Darkest Hour, Sally Hawkins winning Best Actress for The Shape of Water, Christopher Nolan winning Best Director for Dunkirk, James Ivory winning the Adapted Screenplay award for Call Me By Your Name, Sam Rockwell winning Best Supporting Actor for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri and Laurie Metcalf winning Best Supporting Actress for Lady Bird.

Get Out's OFCS win comes after the film was nominated for Best Musical or Comedy Film at the upcoming Golden Globe Awards. Star Daniel Kaluuya was also nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Film.

Peele previously discussed Get Out being nominated in the Best Musical or Comedy category at the Golden Globes noting that he considers his film to be a documentary due to its subject matter and social commentary on race.

"Here's the thing, the movie is truth. The thing that resonated with people was truth, so for me it's more of a historical biopic," Peele said while on The Late Show.

Get Out, which was released in theaters in February, grossed $253.4 million worldwide.

Oh, and have a Happy New Year!

Be Well,
Steve

Which country music star gave his wife 2 baby kangaroos for Christmas?

Luke Bryan gave his wife Caroline two baby kangaroos for Christmas.

"2 Live Roo and Roo Tang Clan are living their best life. Seriously...real names are Margo and Todd. They are adjusting perfectly are beyond sweet and precious. #brettsbarn #christmasvacation #margoandtodd," Caroline captioned a photo of the marsupials wearing diapers and relaxing by a fireplace.

Luke also posted a video showing him presenting his blindfolded spouse with what he said were "two designer purses."

When Caroline took the blindfold off and looked in the bag, the kangaroos poked their heads out, surprising her.

"Oh, my God! Where did you get these?" she asked, laughing.

"Brett's barn additions. #brettsbarn," Luke wrote in a message accompanying the video.

The Today show said Brett's Barn was dedicated to the Bryans' niece, Sadie Brett, who died at 7 months old last February. Margo and Todd were characters in the holiday film classic Christmas Vacation.
