BIRTH DATE: July 23, 1947, Chicago, IL

CLAIM TO FAME: He is best known for his starring role as Orville "Rick" Wright on the long-running CBS television series Magnum P.I.

FAMILY LIFE: He is married to actress Nancy DeCarl; they have one son, Lorenzo Manetti (b. 1980).

INFO: Manetti studied acting with the Ted List Players in Chicago, and his first television role was in Jack Webb's Chase (1973-74). He then played pilot Bobby Boyle in Baa Baa Black Sheep (1976-78) with Robert Conrad. Later, he had a role as a book on the NBC series The Duke (1979). His best known role on Magnum P.I. lasted for the eight year run of the series, from 1980-88.

He co-starred in 25 feature films and guest starred on several other television shows including Emergency!, Tenspeed and Brownshoe, Tales from the Darkside, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Battlestar Galactica, Renegade, Quantum Leap, JAG and Walker, Texas Ranger.

TRIVIA: Is the author of the semi-autobiographical Aloha Magnum built around his time on Magnum P.I. and anecdotes about fellow cast members and celebrities such as Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Used to host a "Celebrity Brunch" and own a restaurant at the Plaza Hotel & Casino.

Is a fan of "The Jeffersons" (1975).
