Pauley Perrette announces departure from 'NCIS' after 15 seasons
Pauley Perrette announced Wednesday on Twitter that she is departing NCIS following the conclusion of Season 15.

"So it is true that I am leaving NCIS after this season. There have been all kinds of false stories as to why (NO I DON'T HAVE A SKIN CARE LINE AND NO MY NETWORK AND SHOW ARE NOT MAD AT ME!)" the actress wrote.

"It was a decision made last year. I hope everyone will love and enjoy EVERYTHING ABBY not only for the rest of this season but for everything she has given all of us for 16 years," she continued.

"All the love, all the laughter, all the inspiration...I love her as much as you do," Perrette concluded about her character.

Perrette has portrayed forensic specialist Abby Sciuoto on NCIS since the drama debuted on CBS in 2003. The 48-year-old is one of only a handful of stars who have been featured on the show since the start, including Mark Harmon, David McCallum and Sean Murray -- who was a recurring character in Season 1 before becoming a series regular the next year.

The core cast of NCIS remained largely unchanged until 2013, with the exit of Cote de Pablo and then Michael Weatherly, who departed in 2016 to star in his own drama, Bull. New additions to the cast include Wilmer Valderrama, Duane Henry and Maria Bello

Perrette is a fan favorite on NCIS, which continues to rank as primetime's most watched drama series in total viewers and is among the most widely viewed series around the world, noted Variety.

'Mean Girls' cast promote GoFundMe campaign for Las Vegas shooting victims
The cast of Mean Girls including Amanda Seyfried, Lacey Chabert, Daniel Franzese and Jonathan Bennett, are asking fans to donate to a GoFundMe page that will help benefit the victims of the recent Las Vegas shooting.

The campaign was started Tuesday in celebration of Mean Girls Day where fans on social media celebrate the 2004 comedy that also starred Lindsay Lohan and Rachel McAdams by sharing their favorite quotes and moments from the film.

Mean Girls Day takes place every Oct. 3 in reference to a famous line given by Lohan in the film.

"In honor of Mean Girls Day, we're asking each of you, the groolest fans out there to help," Chabert and Bennett say collectively in a video shared on Bennett's Twitter Tuesday that asks fans to each donate $3 to their GoFundMe page that supports the National Compassion Fund, a program in the National Center for Victims of Crime.

The cast is hoping to raise $300,000 for the organization that previously worked with the victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting and the Aurora shooting. As of now, the campaign has raised over $60,000.

"We know fetch is never gonna happen, but we can make this happen," Chabert says in reference to another famous line from the film.

Which Oscar winner will portray Hugh Hefner in the upcoming biopic?

Jenny Slate in talks to join Sony's 'Spider-Man' spinoff 'Venom'
Jenny Slate is being eyed to star in Sony's upcoming Spider-Man spinoff Venom, starring Tom Hardy in the title role.

Slate is in negotiations to join the film from director Ruben Fleischer, noted The Hollywood Reporter.

In addition to Hardy, the cast of the comic book film also includes Michelle Williams and Riz Ahmed in unspecified roles.

Slate is being considered to portray a scientist character, Variety reported citing sources.

Venom, penned by Scott Rosenberg (Jumanji) and Jeff Pinkner (The Dark Tower), is being produced by Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach and Amy Pascal. The film is set for release on Oct. 5, 2018.

The central character is a mainstay in Marvel's Spider-Man comics who first appeared as a villain before becoming an antihero. Venom is born after an alien symbiote bonds with photographer Eddie Brock who is then gifted with powers similar to Spider-Man's along with other abilities. The character was first portrayed by Topher Grace in 2007's Spider-Man 3.

Sony has stated that actor Tom Holland's Spider-Man, who is a part of Disney's Marvel cinematic universe, will not be appearing in Venom or the studio's second spinoff featuring female characters Black Cat and Silver Sable.

Kim Cattrall slams Sarah Jessica Parker over 'Sex and the City 3' remarks
Kim Cattrall wasn't happy about Sarah Jessica Parker's comments about Sex and the City 3.

The 61-year-old actress said Monday in an interview for an upcoming episode of Piers Morgan's Life Stories that Parker "could have been nicer" while reacting to the Sex and the City 2 sequel falling through.

"It's quite extraordinary to get any kind of negative press about something that I've been saying for almost a year of 'no' that I'm demanding or a diva," Cattrall said of her decision to turn down the film, according to The Daily Mail.

"This is where I take to task the people from Sex and the City and specifically Sarah Jessica Parker in that I think she could have been nicer," she told host Piers Morgan. "I don't know what her issue is, I never have."

DailyMailTV reported Thursday that Sex and the City 3 fell through due to Cattrall's demands from the studio. Parker confirmed the same day to Extra that she, Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon won't return for the sequel.

"It's over... we're not doing it," the 52-year-old actress said.

"I'm disappointed," she said. "We had this beautiful, funny, heartbreaking, joyful, very relatable script and story. It's not just disappointing that we don't get to tell the story and have that experience, but more so for the audience that has been so vocal in wanting another movie."

Cattrall initially responded to the news in a tweet Friday, writing, "The only 'DEMAND' I ever made was that I didn't want to do a 3rd film....& that was back in 2016." She told Morgan it was a "clear" and "empowered" decision to turn down the movie and end that "chapter" of her life.

"Fabulous #LifeStories interview with @KimCattrall last night," Morgan tweeted Tuesday. "She told me the REAL story re Sex & The City rumours."

Cattrall play Samantha Jones in the Sex and the City television series, which aired on HBO, and its big-screen sequels. Parker, Davis and Nixon portrayed Carrie Bradshaw, Charlotte York and Miranda Hobbes, respectively.

Which Oscar winner will portray Hugh Hefner in the upcoming biopic?

Jared Leto has been tapped to portray Playboy founder Hugh Hefner in an upcoming biopic from director Brett Ratner.

Leto's casting comes after Hefner's death Wednesday of natural causes at the age of 91.

Ratner had announced in April that he was developing a biopic on the magazine mogul through his RatPac Entertainment studio after optioning Hefner's life rights, Variety reported. Hefner was signed on as an executive producer and had given the project his blessing.

"In recent years there has been plenty of interest and much conversation about doing a feature film based on my life. I have always believed that when the timing was truly right, the perfect creative partners would come together for this project. I believe we've found those partners in Brett Ratner and RatPac Entertainment. I'm very much looking forward to this collaboration," Hefner said at the time.

Also in April, Ratner had invited Leto to the Playboy Mansion for the premiere of Amazon documentary series, American Playboy: The Hugh Hefner Story.

"Jared is an old friend," Ratner said to The Hollywood Reporter about the actor. "When he heard I got the rights to Hef's story, he told me, 'I want to play him. I want to understand him.' And I really believe Jared can do it. He's one of the great actors of today."

Leto will be seen opposite Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford in Blade Runner 2049, due in theaters on Friday. Leto is also set to once again portray DC Comics villain The Joker in a sequel to Suicide Squad and in a new film that will co-star Margot Robbie as The Joker's girlfriend Harley Quinn.
