'Last Tycoon,' 'Z' and 'Will' won't return for second seasons
Amazon has canceled its period dramas Z: The Beginning of Everything and The Last Tycoon.

The Hollywood Reporter said neither the Christina Ricci-led Z, which is about author F. Scott Fitzgerald's wife, Zelda Fitzgerald, in the 1920s, nor Matt Bomer's Tycoon, which is based on an unfinished work by F. Scott Fitzgerald about the early Hollywood film industry, were picked up for a second season because the streaming service wants to focus on developing hits for a broader audience.

Meanwhile, Variety reported TNT opted against ordering more episodes of Will due to the show's low ratings. Set in 16th century London, the series followed young William Shakespeare as a struggling poet and playwright. It starred Laurie Davidson, Olivia DeJonge, Colm Meaney, Mattias Inwood, Jamie Campbell Bower and Ewen Bremner.

Upcoming 'South Park' game adjusts difficulty based on skin color
Publisher Ubisoft's upcoming RPG South Park: The Fractured but Whole will adjust the difficulty of the game based on the player character's skin color.

A demonstration of the game, based on the long running Comedy Central series, published to YouTube by Eurogamer showed off the character creation process in which the difficulty of the game increases as the player character's skin gets darker and decreases as it gets lighter.

"Don't worry, this doesn't affect combat," the game's narrator Eric Cartman states. "Just every other aspect of your whole life."

The game's developers added that the player character's skin color will also affect the amount of money they receive throughout the game and how other characters speak to them.

The gender of the main character will also have an impact on the game, as its predecessor 2014's South Park: The Stick of Truth only allowed players to select a male character.

If the player selects to be a female character, a special scene in which school counselor Mr. Mackey contacts the character's parents will play.

"Uh, you're a girl? Mmkay, we were under the impression that, uh. Can you just hang on a minute? I just need to call your parents, mmkay? It'll just take a second," Mackey says. "So the whole King and Stick of Truth thing, she was actually a girl the entire time?"

The scene players will be given the option to choose whether they are cisgender or transgender, with the second option prompting Mackey to warn that things will be tougher.

South Park: The Fractured But Whole is scheduled to release on Oct. 17 for Playstation 4, Xbox One and PC.
