Ryan Seacrest will return to host 'American Idol' revival
Television and radio personality Ryan Seacrest will return to host the American Idol revival.

The 42-year-old star confirmed on Thursday's episode of Live with Kelly & Ryan that he will host a reboot of the reality competition on ABC.

"It's going to be the best time," he said of the show. "It's going to be a lot of fun. We're auditioning soon."

Seacrest hosted American Idol throughout its original 15-season run on Fox from 2002 to April 2016.

"It's genuinely hard to put into words what American Idol means to me," Seacrest said in a statement. "I'm so grateful for the show and all the career and life opportunities it's allowed me to experience. It's been an incredible journey since day one.'

"To be asked to return this year, at my new home at Disney/ABC is an honor, if not a bit surreal," he confessed.

Seacrest will join new judge Katy Perry. The 32-year-old singer welcomed Seacrest back to the show in a tweet Thursday.

"I'm spicy, @RyanSeacrest is seasoned! All the right ingredients are coming together on @AmericanIdol. Have YOU auditioned? #TheNextIdol," she wrote.

ABC confirmed the revival in May following American Idol's final season on Fox. The network said the reboot will debut in 2018.

Linkin Park's Chester Bennington dead at 41
Chester Bennington, the frontman of the Grammy-award winning band Linkin Park, died in an apparent suicide at his home in California, law enforcement said. He was 41.

Police told TMZ his body was discovered before 9 a.m. Thursday at his residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County. He had hanged himself. Police confirmed the report to Variety.

Bennington struggled with drug and alcohol abuse throughout his life. He previously told friends he considered suicide over physical abuse as a child, TMZ reported.

In addition to Linkin Park, Bennington provided vocals for the bands Dead by Sunrise, Stone Temple Pilots and live cover band Bucket of Weenies.

Linkin Park won two Grammys: for Best Hard Rock Performance for "Crawling" in 2002 and for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Numb/Encore" with Jay-Z in 2006.

Bennington is survived by his wife, Talinda Bentley, and six children.

Linkin Park released the album One More Light earlier this year. Hours before the news of Bennington's death, the band released a new video for a song off the album, "Talking to Myself."

Report: Stevie Wonder marries longtime girlfriend
Music legend Stevie Wonder reportedly married his longtime girlfriend over the weekend.

The 67-year-old singer tied the knot with 42-year-old Tomeeka Robyn Bracy at a "lavish" wedding at the Hotel Bel-Air in Los Angeles, according to People. Babyface was among the couple's famous guests.

"It was a beautiful wedding. The ceremony was lavish and very romantic. There were celebrity guests, including John Legend," a source told the magazine.

"Family is very important to Stevie and all of his kids were involved in the wedding," the insider added of Wonder, who shares two children with Bracy, including 2-year-old daughter Nia, and seven other kids with previous partners.

The Sun reported Legend, Usher and Pharrell Williams performed for Wonder and Bracy before the singer serenaded his bride, who is also mom to two other children.

"Stevie's musical pals each got up on stage to take turns serenading the couple, much to the delight of the other guests," a source said. "Then Stevie got up to sing for his new bride."

Wonder was previously married to late singer Syreeta Wright and fashion designer Kai Millard. He last released the holiday compilation album The Best of Christmas (Fantastic Relaxing Songs) in November.

What's the subtitle for the 7th season 'American Horror Story'?

American Horror Story co-creator Ryan Murphy has revealed the title for the seventh edition of his anthology series.

"AHS: CULT," Murphy tweeted Friday.

He announced earlier this week that Girls writer and star Lena Dunham would appear in the show, which is to start on the night of the 2016 U.S. presidential election, although winner Donald Trump and his opponent Hillary Clinton will not be characters played by actors on screen.

"Horror Story is always about allegory, so the election is allegory. It's our jumping off point. It is about the election we just went through and what happened on that night and the fallout of that night, which to many people, from all sides of the camps is a horror story. And you know, that show is always so fun when it's about the zeitgeist and what we're doing now," Murphy said in May.

Other previously announced cast members include Billy Lourd, Billy Eichorn, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Colton Haynes, Leslie Grossman, Adina Porter and Cheyenne Jackson.
