Here's the Scoop...

Val Kilmer is stepping up his campaign to join Tom Cruise in the upcoming Top Gun sequel.

"Still got it... just sayin..." Kilmer tweeted Tuesday.

The message accompanied a bathroom-mirror selfie of Kilmer with blonde, slicked back hair, as well as a T-shirt baring the likeness of his Top Gun character Iceman and the slogan, "Cool as Ice."

Cruise has been talking about Top Gun: Maverick during recent interviews for this weekend's release The Mummy.

Cruise said the Top Gun follow-up will have a similar tone and score as the original 1986 movie about U.S. Navy pilots. He has not revealed who may appear alongside him in the film.

About two weeks ago, Kilmer tweeted at Cruise, saying he is eager and available to reprise his role.

Come on! Iceman said that he'd be Maverick's wingman "any time." That's right! And that time is now! Get Kilmer in this movie! I'm starting a petition! This picture doesn't get made without that Kilmer kid!

Be Well,
Steve
