Here's the Scoop...

From the "Did You Know About This" File... have you seen the first trailer for 'Murder on the Orient Express'?

20th Century Fox released the first trailer for its upcoming mystery film Murder on the Orient Express on Thursday.

"There is something about a tangle of strangers pressed together for days with nothing in common but the need to go from one place to another and never see each other again," a voice says as the trailer shows a cast that includes Johnny Depp, Judi Dench, Penelope Cruz, Kenneth Branagh and others on a luxurious train traveling across snow-covered mountains.

Directed by Branagh, the adaptation of Agatha Christie's classic detective novel "tells the tale of thirteen strangers stranded on a train, where everyone's a suspect," according to a caption that accompanies the trailer. "One man must race against time to solve the puzzle before the murderer strikes again."

The movie is set for release on Nov. 10.

I think I might need to get me a ticket for this one.

Be Well,
Steve

Jennifer Garner says she did not 'participate in or authorize' People's cover story
Actress Jennifer Garner took to Facebook to say she did not "participate in or authorize" this week's People magazine cover story about her.

"It has been brought to my attention that there is a People magazine cover and article out today that appear to be coming from me," Garner -- who is separated from her husband Ben Affleck -- said in her post Wednesday.

"It isn't unusual for me to receive calls from loved ones thinking I forgot to tell them I am pregnant -- with twins! -- [Geez Louise,] but those are so ridiculous they're easy to ignore," she added. "This isn't a tragedy by any measure, but it does affect me and my family and so, before my mom's garden club lights up her phone, I wanted to set the record straight: I did not pose for this cover. I did not participate in or authorize this article. While we are here, for what it's worth: I have three wonderful kids and my family is complete. Have a beautiful day, Love, Jen."

The cover features a large photo of Garner with the title "Life After Heartbreak." A web version of the article quotes an unnamed insider as saying, "Ben was the love of her life" and Garner isn't ready to date again yet as she is focusing on her kids.

WGN America cancels 'Underground' after two seasons
WGN America this week canceled period drama Underground after two seasons.

The television show, set during the 19th century, detailed the lives of runaway slaves and abolitionists, including Harriet Tubman and Frederick Douglass. During its first season, Underground became the most-watched original scripted series in the channel's history

Douglass was portrayed by John Legend, who was an executive producer on the show and addressed WGN's decision Tuesday on Twitter.

Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns TV stations throughout the United States, bought Tribune Media, WGN America's parent company, in May for about $3.9 billion.

Legend blamed that purchase for his show's cancelation and said he'd work to find a "new home" for the program.

"We're not reliant on a particular network to make great content," Legend wrote in a separate tweet. "We're so proud of our show and the audience that supported!"

Tribune Media's CEO Peter Kern said in a statement his company is taking a new direction after the Sinclair acquisition.

LOOSE LIPS:
"It wasn't that I was sad or feeling down in the dumps or feeling like I wanted to write heartbreak ballads. I was kind of excited about all of the things that I could do now, and I just really wanted to talk about that on my album."

Which actress has joined 'Supergirl' Season 3 as villain Reign?

Nicole Kidman doesn't text Keith Urban: 'We're old-school'
Nicole Kidman says she's too "old-school" to text husband Keith Urban.

The 49-year-old Australian actress talked about her marriage to Urban in the July issue of InStyle.

"Keith and I don't ever text. We call. That's just what we've always done. We're old-school," she told the magazine.

Kidman and Urban married in 2006, and have since welcomed daughters Sunday and Faith. The actress said in the interview that a perfect day for her involves spending time at home with her family.

"On weekends, we just hang -- wake up, get the paper. We eat together as a family, breakfast and dinner always," she shared. "We're very, very tight. It's how I was raised. It's what I know."

Kidman's emphasis on family may come as no surprise given her self-professed maternal instinct.

"I suppose the basis of who I am is maternal. I'm the oldest child in my family, which probably has a lot to do with nurturing and taking care of people. So, yeah, a lot of my forces are maternal," she said.

"I mean, they're romantic too. I've always chosen to have really deep, intense romantic relationships," the star added. "I don't dabble. That's who I am, and my mother's always said it: 'You're just a child who attaches.'"

Kidman was previously wed to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001. She and Urban looked the picture perfect couple at the 2017 Academy of Country Music Awards in April, where Urban performed his song "The Fighter," which was inspired by Kidman.

"I remember when he first played it for me, and I started to cry because ... he writes these things -- they come out of, I don't know -- and they're like beautiful gifts," the actress said on the red carpet.
