Hello Music lovers,

I occasionally listen to a music podcast called Song Exploder. Each episode breaks down a modern song with the artist - they discuss the inspirations, how they achieved a certain sound, and sometimes what the meaning is. Its usually more satisfying for me to know the song in advance, but this week had one of my favorite bands, Gorillaz new song Andromeda. The band is actually composed of ex-Blur member Damon Albarn and comic artist Jaime Hewletts 2 dimensional cartoon drawings. I had not listened to their latest album yet, so l found the song breakdown still very interesting, and it was followed up by the song in its entirety.

You can listen to the episode at Song Exploder's Website but the most interesting thing to me was that group front-runner (and actual 3D human) Albarn was inspired by the beat and tempo of Billie Jean. The final song really bares no resemblance to the Michael Jackson classic, but it was neat to find out!

Pleasant Watching,
