Hello Everyone,

10dollarsIn the war against germs and grime in our homes, we've become reliant on an array of cleaning products to help us do our dirty work. And in our crazed determination to kill every last bit of bacteria, with as little effort as possible, we turn to harsh products that are hard on the planet and cause ill health effects ranging from asthma and skin irritation to reproductive harm and cancer.

This is why I try to clean using one or a combination of vinegar, baking soda, lemon, salt, and essential oils (oils or more for scent).

Below are two of the favorite tips on cleaning with natural ingredients.

Hint 1: Make your own no fume oven cleaner

Have you ever cleaned your oven using a store bought cleaner? Wowser...I have and let me tell you, once I spray the oven I instantly feel it in my lungs? Anyone know what I'm talking about? The scent is pretty obvious you are inhaling harsh chemicals. And then the cough starts...ugh!

I have a great solution you all have to try. It's not that hard to get your oven clean without all those fumes with a baking soda solution.

Spray the inside of the oven with water, 1 cup baking soda and 1/4 cup of salt. Re-spray with water and leave to set overnight. Wipe clean.

Not that hard, right?

Hint 2: Enjoy a cleaner dishwasher

I actually do this tip once a month just to help maintain any build up, stains, or odors that may occur in my dishwasher. And it's simply easy and take zero effort.

You can clean your own dishwasher by running a cup of vinegar through the cycle. Do this monthly to help with build up, stains, and odor.
