Matthew 28:1-7

Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it.

His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. But the angel answered and said to the women,

"Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He is risen, as He said. Come, and see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly and tell His disciples that He is risen from the dead, and indeed He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him. Behold, I have told you."

Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

Ah, those old family traditions. The Easter bunny, the cute little nests, the colored eggs... Can we bear to abandon them? Only if we have compelling reasons to do so.

If the Holy Spirit convicts you, there are some fairly easily attained methods by which you can do a little research. We never have to fear the truth, for Jesus has told us, "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." (John 8:32)

God Bless You on this Day of Remembrance and as you Celebrate the Glorious Resurrection of our Lord!

--TODAY'S NOT SO TRIVIAL TRIVIA QUESTION:

Q. Who carried the cross for Jesus, and what were the names of his sons?

Answer below.

--TODAY'S BIT OF WISDOM/REFLECTION:

"The stone was rolled away from the door, not to permit Christ to come out, but to enable the disciples to go in."

- Peter Marshall

--FEATURED FUNNY:

The teacher had asked her pupils to list, in their opinions, the eleven greatest Americans. As they were writing, she stopped at one desk.

"Have you finished your list, Johnny?" she asked.

"Not quite," he answered. "I can't decide on the fullback."

--ANSWER TO TRIVIA QUESTION:

Q. Who carried the cross for Jesus, and what were the names of his sons?

A. Simon, a Cyrenian; Alexander and Rufus

And when they had mocked Him, they took the purple off Him, put His own clothes on Him, and led Him out to crucify Him. Then they compelled a certain man, Simon a Cyrenian, the father of Alexander and Rufus, as he was coming out of the country and passing by, to bear the cross.

Mark 15:20-21

Nothing else is known about this man except that he carried the cross of Jesus; a burden we are all privileged to bear.
