Benedict Cumberbatch, Sophie Hunter welcome baby No. 2
Benedict Cumberbatch and wife Sophie Hunter welcomed baby No. 2 this month.
The 40-year-old English actor and 39-year-old theater director welcomed a second son, Hal Auden, on March 3, People confirmed Monday.
Cumberbatch and Hunter married in February 2015 after a longtime friendship, and welcomed son Christopher "Kit" Carlton that June. The actor confirmed Hunter was expecting again after attending the Los Angeles premiere of Doctor Strange with his wife in October.
"Everyone is absolutely thrilled," his rep told E! News at the time.
Cumberbatch later said in the November issue of Vanity Fair that fatherhood has been a "massive" change.
"Having a baby -- it's massive. And on a very unexpected level," he told the magazine. "Suddenly I understood my parents much more profoundly than I ever had before."
Cumberbatch plays Sherlock Holmes on the BBC series Sherlock, which completed a fourth season in January. He will reprise Doctor Strange in the upcoming movies Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Infinity War.
Liam Payne, girlfriend Cheryl, celebrate birth of first child
One Direction singer Liam Payne and girlfriend Cheryl Cole celebrated the birth of their first child, a son, on Wednesday.
In an Instagram post holding the baby, Payne said he was "very blessed" to be a father.
The couple has yet to settle on a name, he said.
"I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far," said Payne, 24. "I'm completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this, she's really made my dreams come true. We haven't named him yet but he's already capturing hearts including mine. I feel very blessed."
Payne and Cole, 33, began dating last year, but met in 2008 when Cole, a former member of the pop group Girls Aloud, was a judge on the U.K. version of Simon Cowell's talent show, The X Factor. Payne was just 14 at the time.
He would later be paired with the four other members of One Direction who also appeared as contestants on the show.

Amanda Seyfried gives birth to her first child, a daughter
Mean Girls and Mamma Mia! star Amanda Seyfried has given to her first child, a daughter.
The actress' representative confirmed the happy news to People magazine and E! News, but offered no details regarding exactly when and where the child was born, or what her name is.
Seyfried, 31, married Life in Pieces actor Thomas Sadoski, 40, earlier this month.
Jared Padalecki, wife Genevieve welcome third child
Jared Padalecki and wife Genevieve welcomed baby No. 3 this month.
Genevieve, a 36-year-old actress, shared a first photo of daughter Odette Elliott on Monday after welcoming the infant with Padalecki, a 34-year-old actor, on March 17.
"Introducing baby Odette Elliott Padalecki!! I collaborated w/ @popandsuki to raise funds for @PPact + @HRC!" she captioned a picture of herself with Odette and the Pop & Suki tags she designed for charity.
Padalecki and Genevieve, née Cortese, married in 2010, and also share 4-year-old son Thomas Colton and 3-year-old son Austin Shepherd. The actor announced this month that he and his wife were expecting their first girl.
"Tom and Shep can't wait for 'Sissy' :) @nowandgen," he wrote March 12.
Padalecki and Genevieve met on the set of Supernatural in 2008. The actor still plays Sam Winchester on The CW series, while Genevieve portrayed the demon Ruby in Season 4.
"It was really special and unexpected," Padalecki said of their early connection during an interview with Live with Kelly in November. "It turned into hanging out, taking about traveling, and turned into dinner."
Supernatural co-stars Jensen Ackles, and returned for an 11th season in September. Ackles, who plays Dean Winchester, welcomed twins Zeppelin and Arrow with wife Daneel Harris in December.
