Hebrews 5:12-14

For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food.

For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe. But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

Nobody would ever dream of giving a newborn baby a big slab of steak; even a toddler isn't ready for that but rather needs things like ground beef and soft chicken. While the perfect food for babies is human milk, just think what would happen if we would continue to feed a child only milk. His growth and development in all areas would be stilted and delayed, eventually he would die of malnutrition.

As babes in the faith Peter says we are to desire the pure milk of the Word (1Pet. 2:2), but as we mature we are to gradually eat more and more meat. In doing so we will become mature, able to tell good from evil.

God Bless You as You Seek the Meat of God's Word!

God Bless You!
