Scarlett Johansson on gender wage gap: 'It's always an uphill battle and fight'
Scarlett Johansson has spoken out about the gender wage gap in Hollywood and has addressed her title as the highest-grossing actress of all time.

"Just because I'm the top-grossing actress of all time does not mean I'm the highest paid," Johansson says in the upcoming March issue of Marie Claire where she also graces the cover.

"I've had to fight for everything that I have. It's such a fickle and political industry," she continued before launching into why she refrained from commenting on the gender wage gap in the past.

"Some people felt I should talk about my personal struggle in order to shed a spotlight on the greater issue. Maybe I'm being presumptuous, but I assumed it was obvious that women in all positions struggle for equality," the 32-year-old said.

"It's always an uphill battle and fight. My experience with my close female friends and family is that the struggle is real for everybody. Everyone has been discriminated against or harassed -- sexism is real."

Johansson also commented on the controversy surrounding her casting as the Major in Ghost in the Shell, a character who has been portrayed as Asian in the original manga and in an animated film adaptation.

"I certainly would never presume to play another race of a person. Diversity is important in Hollywood, and I would never want to feel like I was playing a character that was offensive," the Avengers star said.

"Also, having a franchise with a female protagonist driving it is such a rare opportunity. Certainly, I feel the enormous pressure of that -- the weight of such a big property on my shoulders."

Marie Claire's March issue is set to arrive on newsstands Feb. 14. The magazine shared the cover featuring Johansson on Twitter Monday.

Which celebrity chef and television personality is getting three new shows on ITV?

Matt Damon calls 'Great Wall' the 'biggest movie that I've ever been a part of'
Actor Matt Damon says he enjoyed relocating from California to China for half a year to star in director Zhang Yimou's upcoming monster movie The Great Wall.

"It was an amazing experience. I brought my whole family and we adopted [cast member] Pedro [Pascal,] which was great," the married father of four daughters joked with reporters at New York Comic Con.

"But I think one of the really interesting things is, like Zhang Yimou said earlier, we had over 100 translators. It was the biggest movie that I've ever been a part of. It was just massive. But despite the fact that we didn't all speak the same language, everybody there had spent their lives making movies and we had that language in common and it was really cool to see how much we actually could speak through the work that we were doing together. That was really cool."

Co-starring Jing Tian, Willem Dafoe and Andy Lau, The Great Wall opens nationwide on Feb. 17. Damon is currently on the awards circuit for Manchester by the Sea, a film he helped produce.

Which celebrity chef and television personality is getting three new shows on ITV?

Gordon Ramsay is getting three new shows on Britain's ITV.

Ramsay will star in an as-yet-untitled, prime-time documentary program, a day-time cookery series called Culinary Genius and the late-evening Nightly Show.

The new deal brings Ramsay home to the network where he first established his popular reality show Hell's Kitchen.

"We're reaching audiences on every level with this one, and I'm really excited to work on three completely different formats with ITV," Ramsay said in a statement.

"Gordon is not only a world-class chef, but a world-class TV presenter. It's a great thing to have him back where it all started, with some brand-new shows. He's an irrepressible talent and we are really looking forward to his return to ITV in 2017," added ITV Director of Television Kevin Lygo.
