1 Corinthians 14:26

How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification.

Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

Denominationalism is confusing, isn't it? It seems that everywhere one turns there is a new sort of church popping up; one for every type of personality, and one that fits every individual's particular set of preferences. I can't help but wonder if this is pleasing to God as the end result is often separation and conflict amongst believers.

The answer lies in the Bible which clearly instructs us to not neglect gathering together with other believers and then goes on to tell us how to conduct ourselves while doing so. Perhaps an effective way to determine if a particular church, or even a whole denomination, is truly doing spiritual work, is to compare it to the instructions given in God's Word. Try it and see!

God Bless You!

Q. What are the names of the seven churches in Revelation?

Answer below.

--TODAY'S BIT OF WISDOM/REFLECTION:

"The best way to kill a church is to squeeze it into a building. For without contact with people in need and publicly witnessing faith and trust in Jesus, a church will quietly die."

-Bob Snyder

--FEATURED FUNNY:

Little boy to his friend: "I don't get it. My sister insists she has three brothers, but I'm in the same family and I only count two!"

--ANSWER TO TRIVIA QUESTION:

Q. What are the names of the seven churches in Revelation?

A. Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea

"I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, what you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."

Revelation 1:11

The messages to the seven churches are contained in the first three chapters of Revelation. These churches are prototypical of the church as a whole and their messages are for us as well.
