Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

Should Christians "lighten up" on certain issues? Like all other things, this is something about which we should pray!

A minister named H. B. Sheppard once preached a sermon comparing believers to sports fans. A football enthusiast, he said, can scream and yell at every game, and make all kinds of sacrifices to not miss a single one.

They wave banners and exhibit unusual behavior during game season, wear all types of clothing and jewelry to advertise their team, even decorate their car, yard, and home with various items adorned with their team's name and colors. They memorize every statistic and know more details about individual member's lives than they know about their own relatives. All this makes them a football "fan."

But if you apply these types of behaviors and attitudes to a believer's enthusiasm about Jesus and His "team", what do you get? A "fanatic!"

People tend to smile benevolently at a sports fan's devotion, yet scorn a believer's devotion to Jesus. This happens even within the "church" community. We should not be ashamed to be a "fanatic" for Jesus!

God Bless You!

--DAILY BIBLE VERSE:

Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.

His understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might
He increases strength...

But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40: 28-31

What words of hope and encouragement! Our God neither faints nor is weary; we can always depend on Him.

--TODAY'S BIT OF WISDOM/REFLECTION:

"A true Christian's enthusiasm for the Lord Jesus Christ should be so exuberant that it would be far more likely to set others on fire than to be extinguished by worldly influences."

-Henrietta C. Mears

--FEATURED FUNNY:

The new bride had spent two hours preparing her first breakfast. She sat down at the table, eagerly watching as her husband slowly savored each forkful.

"How was it, Honey?" she asked when he'd finished.

"Well," he began thoughtfully, wiping his lips, "you probably could have beaten the eggshells a little longer. But on the whole, it was a good start."

--ANSWER TO TRIVIA QUESTION:

Q. What did King Ahasuerus do when he couldn't sleep?

A. he read, or was read to

That night the king could not sleep. So one was commanded to bring the book of the records of the chronicles; and they were read before the king.

Esther 6:1

An interesting insight into ancient times, when the king couldn't sleep, he read. Sound familiar?
