* Clinton holds national security call in response to NYC bombing *
NEW YORK - Hillary Clinton on Tuesday held a conference call with several of her campaign's national security advisers to discuss Saturday's bombing in New York City, her campaign announced.

Clinton's call was closed to the press, but her campaign put out a summary of her opening remarks and a list of the officials participating, many of whom worked on President Barack Obama's national security team while Clinton was secretary of state.

Clinton referenced time spent with her advisers "in the Situation Room" dealing with matters of national security, highlighting her experience combating terrorism.

Clinton has repeatedly emphasized her long experience on national security compared to her opponent, Donald Trump, a businessman who has never served in government.

"I have been with many of you in the Situation Room advising on operations to prevent terrorist attacks and bring terrorists to justice," Clinton said. "Many have never been in the news. We know what it takes."



Included on the call were seven former sub-Cabinet officials from the CIA, Department of Homeland Security, the Pentagon and State Department. Frequently individuals who hold undersecretary or deputy director titles play a hands-on role in crafting the operational response to terrorist threats or actual terrorist acts like the bombings in New Jersey and New York over the weekend.

Clinton told the group she wanted to discuss "what we've learned about the most recent attacks and how we can make our approach even more effective."

On Saturday, two bombs went off, one at the site of a Marine 5K race in New Jersey during the day and another on a nondescript street in the Chelsea section of Manhattan as locals and tourists walked to nearby bars and restaurants. There were no fatalities, but 29 people were injured in the New York City blast.

Law enforcement announced Monday officers had arrested Ahmad Khan Rahami, who was spotted by witnesses in Linden, N.J., and taken into custody after being wounded in a shootout with police.
