*-- Mike Pence shrugs off title of Donald Trump clean-up man --*
NEW YORK - Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, Donald Trump's running mate, on Sunday, dismissed the notion he's a one-man clean up crew for the Republican presidential candidate.

"I couldn't be more honored to be campaigning shoulder to shoulder with a man who I believe is going to be the next president of the United States," Pence said.

He said he and Trump just have "different styles," speaking on Fox News Sunday.

Those differences include how the two men deal with the press, Politico reported.

Pence has been saying for weeks that he would attempt to change Trump's mind about his ban on several major news organizations that are prohibited from covering his rallies, but he has yet to make any headway on that.

Trump, again on Sunday, tweeted his disdain for the media. "If the disgusting and corrupt media covered me honestly and didn't put false meaning into the words I say, I would be beating Hillary by 20 percent."

Pence answered about whether he'll continue to pursue a lift on that ban. "I don't think Donald Trump is having any problem getting press at this point. He gets a lot an awful lot of attention."

During the Sunday news program, Pence also suggested there should be a federal investigation in to whether Clinton took major contributions to The Clinton Foundation while she served as secretary of state. He said Clinton's involvement remains unclear.

"It looks that way more and more every day," Pence said. "That's what we need to find out. ... This is exactly the kind of pay to play politics the American people are sick and tired of. It is just one more example of the way I do believe that the Clintons have been operating over the last 30 years."



Pence said the FBI wanted to investigate, but the Departent of justice "apparently has shut that down."

Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., also speaking on Fox News Sunday, said only two emails were released and they provided "no evidence" that any state department decisions made by Clinton were influenced by Clinton Foundation activities, Fox News reported.

McCaskill, a strong Clinton supporter, acknowledged the state department under Clinton placed foundation donor Rajiv K. Fernando on a sensitive government intelligence advisory board without the necessary experience. She called that "not such a good idea."

The Fox News team also asked Pence whether his style fits that of Trump's regarding his remarks about Khizr and Ghazala Khan, parents of a slain Muslim U.S. soldier or Trump's statements questioning NATO's mutual self-defense agreement. Again, Pence answered that he was honored to stand with Trump.

"Look, he's not someone that spent a lifetime in politics.," Pence said. "He speaks his heart and he speaks his mind. I truly do believe, this good man is going to be a great president of the United States."
