Where Are They Now - Friday, August 12, 2016
Hello fans,
The other night I watched an incredible movie called 'Limbo'. 'Limbo' came out in 1999, was written and directed by John Sayles and starred David Strathairn and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio.
The movie is about a pair of troubled middle-aged people finding solace with one another in Alaska. I don't want to talk much more about the movie, but if you can find it you must watch it. It's an amazing movie! See it!
It's an amazing movie not only because on the talents of John Sayles, but because of the amazing performances of both David Strathairn and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio.
Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio is an actress that has fallen off my radar in the last few years. She's wonderful in whatever project she's part of, especially 'Limbo'.
I remember her most from her Maid Marian in 'Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves' and her very dramatic turn in James Cameron's 'The Abyss'.
She's working all the time so I must seek out more of her amazing performances. But, for now, let's see how Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio has been keeping busy.
Take care,
Steve

She was raised in Oak Park, IL, and began her career in school plays as a teenager. Mary attended the University of Illinois and got bitten by the acting bug, starring in "Guys and Dolls".

At this time she married The January Man (1989) director Pat O'Connor. Mastrantonio is also a renowned cabaret-style singer, and her singing is showcased in John Sayles's Limbo (1999).
