Hello Animal Lovers,
Frans de Waal is a Dutch primatologist (studies primates of course) who focuses on behaviors and how they relate to their human counterparts. Hes been studying primate sexuality, morality, and empathy since 1975 in Bonobos and other species.
In this video, an excerpt from his Ted Talk, he showcases an experiment based on unequal pay with capuchin monkeys. One monkey is rewarded for a task with a cucumber, but his partner in a neighboring cage is getting a delicious grape. The experiment goes on to show how sophisticated primate relationships are with one another. It's fascinating to watch and a little funny to see how jealous the monkey gets!
Pleasant Watching,
