'Buried' DVD

Ryan Reynolds stars in this claustrophobic suspense film.
Paul Conroy (Reynolds) is a civilian truck driver working
in Iraq in 2006 when his convoy is attacked. When he wakes
up, he discovers he has been buried alive in a pine box
with a Zippo lighter and a cellphone. As his oxygen supply
dwindles, he makes telephone calls, but often gets only
voice mail or is put on hold. He calls his family, his
employer, the FBI and the State Department. Eventually his
captors call him, and he learns he is being held for ransom.
Surprisingly, the movie has some elements of humor.

'Jack Goes Boating' DVD

Philip Seymour Hoffman stars in this gentle, intimate movie,
in which he also makes his feature film directorial debut.
The movie is based on an off-Broadway play, and three of the
play's four principal actors reprise their roles in the film.
Jack (Hoffman) is a socially awkward New York limo driver
who relies on his friend and coworker Clyde (John Ortiz) to
teach him life skills. Clyde and his wife (Daphne Rubin-Vega)
arrange for Jack to meet Connie (Amy Ryan), a shy funeral
home worker. The story centers on the romance that slowly
develops between Jack and Connie.

'Takers' DVD

Idris Elba and Matt Dillon star in this slick, fast-paced
heist movie. The Takers are five sharply dressed bank robbers
(Elba, Paul Walker, Hayden Christensen, Michael Ealy, Chris
Brown) who live a luxurious lifestyle. A pair of dogged
police detectives (Dillon and Jay Hernandez) are after the
Takers, but aren't very close to bringing them down. Then a
sixth member (hip-hop artist T.I.) of the Takers gets out of
prison and proposes a lucrative armored-car robbery. That
sets in motion a chain of explosive events. Appearing in
supporting roles are Marianne Jean-Baptiste and Zoe Saldana.
