Eagles star Westbrook gets all clear to face Cowboys
PHILADELPHIA -- Eagles running back Brian Westbrook says
he will be back on the field for Sunday's game against
Dallas following a concussion that forced him to miss a
game. Westbrook returned to practice Wednesday. He says
he is feeling no effects from the concussion that forced
him to miss last week's 40-17 win over the New York
Giants. Westbrook was knocked unconscious when he was
hit in the head by a knee a week earlier in a win over
Washington.
Colts LB starter Hagler done for season with ruptured biceps
INDIANAPOLIS -- The unbeaten Indianapolis Colts have lost
starting linebacker Tyjuan Hagler for the rest of the season
with a ruptured biceps. Coach Jim Caldwell said Hagler was
placed on injured reserve Wednesday. Second-year linebacker
Philip Wheeler and undrafted rookie Ramon Humber are expected
to replace Hagler. Indy also will promote rookie linebacker
Cody Glenn to the active roster from the practice squad.
Hagler was fourth on the Colts with 36 tackles. Running back
Donald Brown (shoulder) and cornerback Marlin Jackson
(strained ACL) were expected to practice Wednesday. Caldwell
did not say whether they would play against Houston this
weekend.

Chargers fill Chambers' roster spot with LB Holt
SAN DIEGO -- The San Diego Chargers have signed rookie
linebacker James Holt from the practice squad to fill the
roster spot created when wide receiver Chris Chambers was
released. Holt originally joined the Chargers in May as a
free agent. He was released at the conclusion of training
camp and added to the practice squad. The Chargers need a
linebacker because Tim Dobbins is expected to be out for
two weeks after sustaining a knee injury in Sunday's 24-16
win over Oakland.

Chiefs place starting safety Page on injured reserve
KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Jarrad Page, a three-year starter at
free safety, has been placed on season-ending injured
reserve by the Kansas City Chiefs. Page wasn't at practice
Monday, and coach Todd Haley said the safety had been
injured during practice last Thursday. Haley said he might
have more to say about the situation Wednesday. The Chiefs
announced the roster move on their Web site Wednesday. The
Chiefs also said they had signed free-agent cornerback
Travis Daniels. He attended training camp with the Chiefs
this year but was released before the season began. He made
26 starts with the Miami Dolphins from 2005 to 2007.

Man takes stand to deny shooting Jaguars' Collier
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The man charged with shooting a
Jacksonville Jaguars offensive lineman has taken the stand
in his own defense and denied being involved in the attack.
Tyrone Hartsfield faces attempted murder and weapons charges
in the 2008 shooting that left Richard Collier paralyzed.
The 32-year-old defendant cried during his testimony
Wednesday. He denied following Collier to an apartment near
downtown, where Collier was shot while sitting in his car.
Hartsfield said he was with his fiancee at a night club the
entire evening and they went home after a concert. Collier
was shot several times, severing his spinal cord. Doctors
also had to amputate the former player's left leg after blood
clots formed.
