Ian McShane teases 'much loved' character's return for 'Game of Thrones'
Ian McShane, who is set to appear in Season Six of Game of Thrones, has hinted at his involvement in bringing back a fan-favorite character to the series.

"My character is an ex-warrior who has become a peacenik," the actor said Thursday of his new role while appearing on BBC Breakfast.

"So I have this group of peaceful ... sort of a cult, a peaceful tribe. I bring back a much-loved character who everyone thinks is dead," he continued.

This is the second time McShane has hinted at his character being back from the dead, stating in November, "I am responsible for bringing somebody back that you think you're never going to see again. I'll leave it at that."

McShane's comments lead fans to believe that he was referring to towering swordsmen The Hound (Rory McCann) who was last seen left for dead after an intense battle with Brienne of Tarth (Gwendoline Christie) in Season 4. Another option fans wondered was if McShane's character would play a part in bringing back the slain Jon Snow who has been rumored to return to series for months.

According to Game of Thrones fan site Watchers on the Wall, McShane essentially admitted that The Hound would be coming back during an interview on BBC Radio 5 Live Friday.

"I think you might guess which one that is. It's not the latter, It might be the former," the 73-year-old responded after the show's hosts guessed that the returning character "could only be the Hound or Jon Snow!"

Fans will have to wait for the reveal when Game of Thrones returns Apr. 24 on HBO.
