How To Repair Rough Dry Feet

If the thought of wearing a pair of sandals makes you
cringe, it may be time to give your dry feet a makeover.
If your skin becomes severely dry, it may become scaly or
cracked, which can be painful. The skin on the feet may be
depleted of moisture from the dry air in the wintertime.
If your doctor approves, you can treat your rough, dry
feet on your own using at-home care and over-the-counter
remedies.

Step 1:

Soak your feet in warm water for 20 minutes every night
before going to bed.

Step 2:

Slather your feet in petroleum jelly immediately after
soaking them in warm water, then place a pair of cotton
socks on your feet before going to bed. The petroleum
jelly will help seal in moisture while you sleep.

Step 3:

Place a humidifier in your room while you sleep. When a
humidifier is filled with water, it releases the water
as vapor through the air, which is absorbed by the skin.

Step 4:

Use warm or cool water in the shower instead of hot water,
which may be removing the moisture from your skin and
making your feet feel dry.

Step 5:

Wash your feet with a mild soap that contains oils and
fats. If your skin feels tight after showering, switch to
a soap that contains moisturizers and makes your skin feel
soft instead.
