Here's the Scoop....

In his first live televised performance since assaulting Rihanna,
Chris Brown broke down as he performed a tribute to the late King
of Pop Michael Jackson.

Donning a fedora and sparkled glove, he mimicked Jackson's
signature " Moonwalk" across the stage to "Billie Jean" at
the BET Awards Sunday in Los Angeles.

But when he grabbed the mic to belt out "Man in the Mirror,"
Chris, who has been outspoken about how Jackson influenced
his career, lost it.

His voice cracked and he could not sing.

Later in the night, Chris returned to the stage to accept the
AOL Fandemonium Award.

He apologized to his fans.

"I let you all down before," he said, "but I won't do it again.
= I promise you."

Singer Lauryn Hill Breaks Her Silence After Over a Decade...

Celebrated for her work with the Fugees and her classic solo
album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, the Grammy-winning
hip-hop/R&B artist has barely been seen or heard since 1999.
Some wondered whether the erratic artist, who demands to be
addressed as "Ms. Hill," had a nervous breakdown.

But she has now finally explained her mysterious absence to
National Public Radio's Zoe Chace, who scored a interview with
the artist following a rare performance in Santa Rosa,Calif.

Why did she stop recording? "There were a number of different
reasons," she explains.

"But partly, the support system that I needed was not necessarily
in place. There were things about myself, personal-growth things,
that I had to go through inorder to feel like it was worth it."

She also takes aim at the music industry, suggesting it didn't
nurture her with enough care or patience: "Oftentimes," Hill
says, "the machine can overlook the need to take care of the
people who produce the sounds that have a lot to do with the
health and well-being of society...And it's important that
people be given the time that they need to go through, to grow,
so that the consciousness level of the general public is properly
affected."

Not that Hill hasn't kept herself busy the past 11 years.

"I don't know if you know this, but I have five children," she
says. Her children's dad is Hill's longtime love Rohan Marley,
son of the late reggae legend Bob Marley.

"The youngest is 2 now, so she's old enough that I can leave
her for a period of time and know she's going to be okay."

"I think it's just time," to start performing again, she adds.

Motley Crue's Vince Neil Arrested for DUI...

Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil was arrested for suspicion of DUI
early Monday morning in Las Vegas, authorities confirm.

Vince was taken into custody at Clark County Detention Center
where he was booked.

Police initially pulled Vince over after a woman told authorities
he allegedly grabbed her camera and broke it after she took his
picture Sunday night.

This is not the singer's first run-in with the law: In 1984 he
pleaded guilty to DUI and vehicular manslaughter in the death
of musician Nicholas "Razzle" Dingley.

Vince's rep was not immediately available for comment.

Sandra Bullock Finalizes Divorce...

Sandra Bullock has finalized her divorce from husband of nearly
five years Jesse James.

The documents State that their marriage "has become insupportable" =
after Jesse cheated on her. Filed for divorce April 23rd in Travis
County Court in Austin, Tx., where she is a resident (and where
Jesse plans to move).

Around the same time of her filing, Sandra revealed that she
and Jesse had been in the process of adopting a baby from New
Orleans, 3 1/2 month-old Louis before splitting. She said she
plans to raise the boy as a single parent.

Despite Jesse's infidelities, a source recently commented that
the two are on speaking terms.

"Jesse would not relocate his family [Chandler, 15, Jesse Jr,
12, and Sunny, 6] to Austin without consulting with her,"
according to the insider. "This has been in the works for a
while. Austin is Sandra; it's not him."

Added the source, "He'd like to reconcile."

Since splitting with Jesse, Sandra has been in hiding but
recently stepped out for a few highly buzzed-about public
appearances.

She wowed crowds at the Nashville flood benefit concert June 22
and a Spike TV awards show the same month.

On June 6, she accepted the Generation Award at the MTV Movie
Awards, where she smooched Scarlett Johnasson and urged the
audience: "Can we please go back to normal, because therapy
is really expensive."

Prince Harry Begins His U.S. Trip with a Bang...

Prince Harry spent his first few hours in New York on Friday
visiting with some of the people he admires most: young cadets
at West Point. The prince arrived by helicopter just after
1:30 p.m. and kicked off his three-day trip to the Big Apple
with some live-fire exercises on the artillery range.

Trading his baby blue beret for a helmet, Harry and a team of
West Point cadets fired M-4 assault rifles at pop-up
silhouette targets from 15 to 300 meters away. Harry's
experience serving on the frontlines in Afghanistan as an air
controller for 10 weeks in 2008, a media leak forced him to
head home, has helped him hone his shot.

"He clearly knows what he's doing," said Col. Casey Haskins,
who indicated that Harry hit multiple "enemy" targets,
successfully avoiding all the "friendly" ones. "He clearly
knows how to shoot. He clearly knows how to move."

After practicing for more than 10 minutes, the prince, who is
third in line for the British throne, took off his helmet and
stuck out his tongue, hamming it up in the summer heat. He
then followed a combat exercise in the woods, but didn't
participate. Later, while posing for photos with cadets, Harry
was asked to prop his weapon up higher and responded, "Are you
serious?" Kidding, he quickly obliged.

But this weekend, Harry is doing more than practicing his shot.
He's focusing on helping veterans, playing a little polo and
raising money for the U.S. arm of his charity, American Friends
of Sentebale, which he co-founded with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho,
Africa in honor of their mothers. The charity gives money to
needy children in Lesotho and helps combat the AIDS crisis.

This is a return trip to New York for Harry, having taken a two-
day tour last year where he similarly participated in the Veuve
Clicquot Manhattan Polo Classic.

*-*-* GUESS WHO *-*-*-

This comedienne is voicing her support for the Healthy School
MealsAct of 2010, which promotes nutritious lunches in
America's schools...

It's Sarah Silverman...

In a letter to Congressman George Miller, Silverman writes:

"I'm writing to you about something that has shocked and offended
me. And trust me when I say it takes a lot to shock and offend me.
Some of the foods we're feeding kids in schools are repulsive -
and that unhealthy food is feeding the childhood obesity epidemic.
All kids - vegetarian or not - should have healthy options. I
think that we forget the simple fact that what we put in our
bodies directly affects our bodies. Many kids aren't able to bring
lunches from home - they have to eat what's in the lunch line.
Without healthful options in the cafeteria, we're doing our
children and the future of our country a great disservice. If we
help children develop healthy habits early on, they'll have a
lower risk of obesity, heart disease, and diabetes in the future.
And that would mean lower health care costs. See? Only good comes
from this. I know you're as serious as I am about helping kids
succeed and stay healthy."
