Acts 10:25-26

As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at
his feet and worshipped him. But Peter lifted him up, saying,
"Stand up; I myself am also a man."

Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

First, an apology for an error in last week's note: The verse
quoted in Monday's Bible Verse (01-19) was Luke 21:33-34,
not Luke 22. Sorry about that!

Also, several people wrote asking what Jesus meant by: "Heaven
and earth will pass away..." The answer is that by heaven, He
did not mean "the place where God dwells" but rather, "sky,
space, and universe."

In both Hebrew and Greek there is only one word for heaven,
but it is used to mean the sky, space (where the stars are),
the universe, and the place where God dwells. The specific
meaning must be derived by context.

In this particular verse Jesus is talking about the judgment
day when all creation, including the earth, sky, and universe,
will be destroyed, but His words will remain forever.

These kinds of questions show why we need Godly scholars even
today because there are still some things not perfectly under-
stood in the Word of God, due to translation issues. Pray for
Godly, Spirit-led scholars to be raised up in our world today!

Thanks for reading and God Bless You!

--FEATURED FUNNY:

A man was seen fleeing down the hall of the hospital just
before his operation. When asked what was wrong he said that
he heard the nurse say, "It's a very simple operation, don't
worry, I'm sure it will be all right."

"She was just trying to comfort you. What's so frightening
about that?"

"She wasn't talking to me, she was talking to the doctor!"

--ANSWER TO TRIVIA QUESTION:

Q. What was the occupation of the Gospel writer, Luke?

A. physician

Luke the beloved physician and Demas greet you.

Colossians 4:14

There is much revealed in this simple verse: Even though
medicine had not progressed as much in Luke's day, we know
that he was a educated Greek, and that he was beloved by
those who knew him. This leads us to think that he did
good work both for the Lord, and in his professional life.
