Here's the Scoop....

Lea Michele has really been championing the cause calling for the ban of carriage horses in NYC.

She's directly addressed Mayor Bloomberg several times, attempting to sway him.

She tweeted:

"Please tweet to @MikeBloomberg if you agree that horse and carriages should no longer be on the busy streets of NYC. And let's end this."

Then she later wrote:

"@MikeBloomberg please listen to the thousands of people who are saying that they no longer want horse & carriage rides in this city."

Those poor horses forced to work hard during the harsh New York winter really had Lea upset. So upset she might have to do something drastic.

She wrote:

"New York, u know how much I love you. But if I see another horse & carriage struggling in this winter weather I may not be able 2 be here."

Do you agree with Lea?

Now, let's get to the rest of the nooz...

Salma Hayek Will Be 'Knighted' in France...

Salma Hayek: Knight?

The Puss In Boots actress was among those named by President Nicolas Sarkozy to receive the Legion d'Honneur Sunday. Salma, 45, will enter the five-tiered honor academy with the grade of Chevalier or "Knight."

Announced in the President's official New Year's list, Hayek will receive a formal induction, which involves a Presidential medal pinning. Her induction will likely occur at the Elysees Palace within the next two months, says a source.

Founded by Napoleon in 1802 as a merit award, the Legion of Honor is awarded to military personnel and civilians for service to France. It is not exclusively reserved for the French and is often awarded to figures of international standing.

Past recipients - who are entitled to wear a small rosette pin indicating their rank - include Jerry Lewis, Clint Eastwood, Robert Redford and Robert De Niro.

In making the grade this year, Salma's honor was also something of a unique family affair: her father-in-law, retired business magnate Francois Pinault, was promoted in the same list to the Legion's exalted rank of Grand Officer.

'Star Wars' and 'LOTR' sword master Bob Anderson dies at 89...

Bob Anderson, a former Olympic swordsman who staged fights for films including the Star Wars and Lord of the Rings series, has died. He was 89.

The British Academy of Fencing said that Bob died early New Year's Day at an English hospital. Bob donned Darth Vader's black helmet and fought light saber battles in two of the three original Star Wars films, The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi.

The villainous character was played by David Prowse and voiced by James Earl Jones, and Bob's role was not initially publicized.

But Mark Hamill, who played Luke Skywalker, said in a 1983 interview that "Bob Anderson was the man who actually did Vader's fighting."

"It was always supposed to be a secret, but I finally told (director) George (Lucas) I didn't think it was fair any more," Mark said. "Bob worked so bloody hard that he deserves some recognition. It's ridiculous to preserve the myth that it's all done by one man."

Robert James Gilbert Anderson was born in Hampshire, southern England, in 1922. He served in the Royal Marines during World War II and represented Britain in fencing at the 1952 Olympics and the 1950 and 1953 world championships.

His first film work was staging fights and coaching Errol Flynn on swashbuckler The Master of Ballantrae in 1952.

He went on to become one of the industry's most sought after sword masters, working on movies including the James Bond adventures From Russia With Love and Die Another Day; The Princess Bride; The Legend of Zorro; and the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Fencing academy president Philip Bruce said Monday that Bob was "truly one of our greatest fencing masters and a world class film fight director and choreographer."

Bob is survived by his wife Pearl and three children. Funeral details were not immediately available

Murder Inquiry on Queen's Estate After Corpse Found...

The discovery of the remains of a woman in a remote location on Queen Elizabeth's Sandringham country estate has triggered a murder investigation.

Police "have launched a murder investigation following the discovery of human remains in an area of woodland" on the Queen's land in Norfolk, about 110 miles north of London, they confirm in a statement.

"The remains of a female were found by a member of the public who reported the incident to police shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday 1 January," Norfolk constabulary added in the statement.

A forensic search is underway, and an autopsy is scheduled for later Tuesday once the body has been removed.

"The area has been sealed off and a detailed search is currently being carried out. Examinations of the scene are being conducted by forensic experts in pathology and anthropology and should be completed today," according to the statements.

Detective Chief Inspector Jes Fry said in a press conference Tuesday that the investigation was in the "very early stages," reports the BBC.

"It could be a complex inquiry," said Fry. "The body had been there for some time."

He added, "The circumstances suggest this is a murder case, and we are looking at missing persons reports and cold cases, both locally and nationwide."

The discovery is thought to be around three miles from Sandringham House, where the royals spent the holidays.

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh, who is recovering from his emergency surgery at Christmas, are in residence at the moment, and the Queen was seen out riding her horse Monday.

Officials at the Palace are not commenting on the situation, referring all calls to the police.
