*** A WORD FROM THE KITCHEN ***

I'm already gettting caught up in the hustle & bustle of the
holidays. It's no fair they start adversiting so soon but I've
definitely got the spirit now. We're looking a little like the
"Griswolds" this year with tons of outside lights it sure
goes faster with our helpers who are now eight involved in the
process. Well Clark Griswold would sure be into the holiday spirit
with this version of HOMEMADE EGGNOG. It makes about a gallon and
you could always omit the alcohol if you prefer too. Check below
for how to make your own whipped cream for the topping too!

BTW: I always thought a jelly-of-the-month-club would make a
fine gift ;o)

RECIPE: HOLIDAY EGGNOG


*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

INGREDIENTS:
1 dozen eggs
1 lb. sugar superfine
1/2 qt. brandy
1/2 qt. rum Meyers dark
1/2 qt. vodka or flavored brandy
1 qt. light cream
1/2 gal. ice cream vanilla
3 qt. whipped cream
nutmeg
cinnamon ground

DIRECTIONS:
Whip eggs and superfine bar sugar together until sugar
is dissolved. Add liquor (try apricot or other flavored
brandy instead of vodka). Whip well. Add light cream.
Break up ice-cream small and add 1/2 ice-cream and 1/2
whipped cream and stir in well. Float remaining ice-cream
and whipped cream on top. Grate fresh nutmeg and cinnamon
over top lightly. Serve with butter cookies.

Yield: Makes about 1 gallon

WHIPPING UP YOUR OWN WHIPPED CREAM:
It's easy! This recipe makes about 2 cups.

*** Whipped Cream ***

1 cup heavy cream
3 tablespoons confectioner's sugar

Combine the ingredients and beat until soft peaks form.
Chill until ready to serve.
