Did you get out the movies over the weekend? I sure didn't. I did watch 'A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master' though. The review will be up on the CelebrityNooz website very soon.

But it did look like the majority of audiences wanted to see 'Crazy Rich Asians'.

The romantic comedy Crazy Rich Asians -- starring Constance Wu and Henry Golding -- is the No. 1 movie in North America, earning $25.2 million in receipts this weekend, BoxOfficeMojo.com announced Sunday.

Coming in at No. 2 is The Meg with $21.2 million, followed by Mile 22 with $13.6 million, Alpha at No. 4 with $10.5 million and Mission: Impossible -- Fallout at No. 5 with $10.5 million.

Rounding out the top tier are Disney's Christopher Robin at No. 6 with $8.9 million, BlacKkKlansmen at No. 7 with $7 million, Slender Man at No. 8 with $5 million, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation at No. 9 with $3.7 million and Mamma Mia!: Here We Go Again at No. 10 with $3.4 million.

Willie Nelson, Wynonna Judd to appear on USA Network's 'Real Country'
Willie Nelson, Trace Adkins, Wynonna Judd and Big & Rich are to appear on USA Network's Real Country competition show this fall.

Radio star Graham Bunn is to serve as host of the eight-part series, which features a permanent panel of artists comprised of Shania Twain, Jake Owen and Travis Tritt.

The series is to debut on the cable network Nov. 13.

"In each hour-long episode, Twain, Owen and Tritt will hand-select emerging solo artists, duos and groups to perform in showcases that spotlight the rich traditions, songs and themes of country music. The best artists from each showcase will perform in a two-hour grand finale, for the chance to be named one of country music's next breakout acts," a press release said.


HBO orders 'Watchmen' series to air in 2019
HBO announced it has ordered a series based on the Watchmen comic books and 2009 film they inspired.

"Nothing ever ends. #WatchmenHBO #DamonLindelof," HBO tweeted Friday.

The post also included a brief video featuring the pitch-dark superhero franchise's yellow smiley face logo with a blood smear on its forehead. The words: "Nothing ever ends. HBO. 2019" also appear in the clip.

Lindelof's credits include Lost, The Leftovers and Star Trek Into Darkness.

EW.com said his take on Watchmen will star Regina King, Jeremy Irons, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Adelaide Clemens, Andrew Howard, Tom Mison, Frances Fisher, Jacob Ming-Trent, Sara Vickers, Dylan Schombing, Lily Rose Smith and Adelynn Spoon.

Netflix cancels 'Joel McHale Show,' 'Break with Michelle Wolf'
Netflix has canceled its chat programs The Break with Michelle Wolf and The Joel McHale Show with Joel McHale after their first seasons.

Deadline.com blamed low viewership for why the streaming service opted not to renew the series for second seasons.

Wolf is an alum of The Daily Show and served as the host of this year's White House Correspondents Association Dinner, which U.S. President Donald Trump did not attend.

McHale is a standup comedian and the former host of Talk Soup who also acts and was recently seen in the movie A Futile and Stupid Gesture, as well as the sitcoms Community and The Great Indoors.

The Hollywood Reporter noted Netflix has been experimenting with what topical formats work for its subscribers.

Netflix canceled an interview show starring Chelsea Handler last year after two seasons, but has recently ordered programs led by Hasan Minhaj, David Letterman and Norm Macdonald.


Priyanka Chopra, Joe Jonas confirm engagement
Actress Priyanka Chopra and recording artist Joe Jonas confirmed their engagement on social media Saturday.

"Future Mrs. Jonas. My heart. My love," Jonas captioned a sweet photo of him and Chopra face to face with Chopra's hand on his chest and a large diamond visible on her ring finger.

"The only way to do this... with Family and God. Thank you all for your wishes and blessings," Chopra wrote alongside an Instagram photo collage of her and Jonas praying and celebrating while wearing traditional Indian attire.

"Taken.. With all my heart and soul," she wrote in another post.

Media reports began circulating in late July that the 25-year-old singer and 36-year-old Quantico star got engaged in London after two months of dating, but the couple did not publicly announce their intention to wed until this weekend.

Which Oscar-winning actress will star in the Netflix series 'What/If'?

Renee Zellweger is set to star in Netflix's 10-part social thriller What/If.

Helmed by writer-producer Mike Kelley, the show explores what happens when ordinary people do unacceptable things.

"Each season will tackle a different morality tale inspired by culturally consequential source material, and the power of a single fateful decision to change the trajectory of an entire life," the streaming service said in a press release Friday.

No other casting or a debut date were announced.

Zellweger, 49, is known for her work in the films Jerry Maguire, Chicago and Cold Mountain, as well as the Bridget Jones's Diary trilogy.

She will also soon be seen playing iconic entertainer Judy Garland in a biopic.

Zellweger, 49, famously stepped out of the spotlight for more than six years at the height of her career.

"You cannot be a good storyteller if you don't have life experiences, and you can't relate to people," she said in 2016.
