Kevin Spacey to play Winston Churchill in new film

Kevin Spacey is set to play Winston Churchill in the upcoming film Captain of the Gate. The 54-year-old actor will exchange his role as devious House of Cards politician Francis Underwood for that of British prime minister and wartime leader Churchill. Churchill was U.K. prime minister during WWII and served two separate terms: 1940-1945 and 1951-1955. The film will follow his life as he comes to power and faces Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany in defense of Britain. Sierra Affinity will produce and finance the film for an estimated $20 million. No director has been chosen yet, but History Channel and documentary writer Ben Kaplan will write the screenplay. No release date has been set for Captain of the Gate, but Spacey will next appear in Horrible Bosses 2 on November 26.

Backstreet Boys and Spice Girls tour is not happening

The Backstreet Boys will not be going on tour with the Spice Girls after all. Fan excitement was at a fever pitch earlier this week when rumors began that the 90s megastars might join forces for a tour. Hopes have unfortunately been dashed, as a rep for the Backstreet Boys has told MTV the tour is definitely not happening. The Backstreet Boys will still return to North America for a continuation of their In a World Like This tour. Avril Lavigne will perform on tour with the band, and their first U.S. appearance is on May 22 in Seattle.

Pop star Justin Bieber says he is going to take a little break from tattooing his body after inking up for a month and his fans are relieved. After getting a tattoo of a cross on his chest while aboard a private plane, he added one more piece of art to his arm and decided that was enough for now. He posted his arm ink on Instagram and said, "Done with tats 4 a while... Where I wanna be.." Some fans commented on the post expressing their relief that Bieber would be giving his skin a much-needed rest.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Chris Martin took kids to the Bahamas before split announcement

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin took to the Bahamas with their kids before announcing their separation on the actress' website, Goop, on Tuesday. According to Us Weekly, the former couple's getaway came in anticipation to the "public frenzy" that would ensue following news of their split. The Iron Man actress and Coldplay's frontman reportedly took their children Apple, 9, and Moses, 7, on a beach getaway to escape from it all. "It is with hearts full of sadness that we have decided to separate," they said Tuesday in a statement. "We have been working hard for well over a year, some of it together, some of it separated, to see what might have been possible between us, and we have come to the conclusion that while we love each other very much we will remain separate."
