Hello Music lovers,

This folk song was first recorded in 1928 by Harry McClintock about a hobos idea of paradise. It involves great fairy tale imagery of Americana like hens that lay soft boiled eggs and where there are cigarette trees. Can you guess the song?

Its Big Rock Candy Mountain! A slow and steady folk tune that peaked at number one on the Country Billboard Magazine charts in 1939. Burl Ives would later record a more kid-friendly version where alcohol references are swapped for soda pop and lemonade. This vid on YouTube features a cool animated story!
