Hello Everyone...

Happy Lollapalooza weekend everyone! I will be there for the first time in years (all three days!) Today will be the second day (I am writing this in advance) which means I'll be seeing Alabama Shakes, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jeff The Brotherhood, and one band I'm really excited for - Franz Ferdinand. I was hooked immediately after their first single, Take Me Out. They are a fun dancy-indie pop band with a deep-voiced crooner for a lead singer. Here's a song off their first self-titled debut, called Matinee.

It's a complex song with layers of cool sounds. A funky drum and bassline persist throughout the song, while shimmers of guitars lace the chorus providing the upbeat contrast that is good to hear. Enjoy it - sorry yall can't see em live, but I'll give a nice Lollapalooza report when I get back.
