Hello Animal Lovers,

Thinking of a slightly more traditional pet than last weeks possum? Here is one pet to go gaga for: a gecko! The cute little reptiles are neat pets to have though let me tell you - they are not the easiest to raise! First of all, you have to be comfortable with giving them live food - mainly small bugs and worms.

Then you have to make sure you handle them carefully, since their tail easily detaches as a defense mechanism. Its either quite the distraction or quite the small snack depending on if you ask the predator or prey! They have to have precise temperature setting too; the cold-blooded reptiles need heat lamps and specific humidity.

Though geckos sound like a lot of work, a responsible lizard owner should find them very enjoyable pets.
