Garth Brooks to headline CBS concert special

Country music superstar Garth Brooks is to headline a live broadcast concert special in Las Vegas next month, CBS announced Monday. "Garth Brooks: Live from Las Vegas" is to take place at the Encore Theater at the Wynn Las Vegas resort and casino Nov. 29. This television concert is to feature Brooks' final performance of his one-man show, which has played to sold-out audiences at the Wynn Las Vegas for the past three years, the network said. "Blame it all on my roots," said Brooks in a statement about the eclectic play list he has prepared for the show. "This is the soundtrack of my life. Growing up the last of six kids, music was the life-blood of our family and as you can imagine, Mom, Dad, and each kid had his or her own favorite stuff and it all funneled down to me." "We're thrilled whenever we get the opportunity to create a television event with an amazing live performer, and there is no one better than Garth Brooks," said Jack Sussman, the network's executive vice president of specials and events. "Garth will give the audience a rare opportunity to not only hear his classic hits, but also the music that became the soundtrack of his life and how those influences from the country, rock and pop worlds set him on the road to become the biggest selling solo artist in history."

'Fifty Shades of Grey' production date postponed

The production start date of the film adaptation of "Fifty Shades of Grey" has been pushed back a month to Dec. 2, The Hollywood Reporter said. Jamie Dornan was cast last week in the lead role of Christian Grey after Charlie Hunnam left the project to focus on his TV show "Sons of Anarchy." The entertainment industry trade newspaper said it was unclear if the film, co-starring Dakota Johnson, would still be released Aug. 1, as scheduled, now that the start of production has been postponed by a few weeks.

It's The Jonas Brothers

Jonas Brothers 'over for now,' Kevin Jonas says

The Jonas Brothers, a popular fraternal music group from New Jersey, says it has officially disbanded. The trio of brothers canceled its planned concert tour earlier this month due to a "deep rift within the band," however, People.com said Tuesday the group has decided to cease performing and recording together, as well. "It's over for now," Kevin Jonas told the magazine. "It's really hard to say 'forever,'" his brother Nick said. "We're closing a chapter, for sure." "It was a unanimous decision," Joe added. Nick said he met with his brothers Oct. 3 and told them he was "feeling kind of trapped." "I needed to share my heart with my brothers," Nick said.
