Here's the Scoop...
Garry Marshall has passed away. From the Fonz and Mork from Ork to Happy Days and Pretty Woman, Garry Marshall has made so many memorable characters, TV shows and movies over the years. His legacy in the world of entertainment will live on forever.
My personal favorite movie from Mr. Marshall is Overboard with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. It was funny back in 1987 and it's still funny in 2016. I think I'll watch it tonight in his honor.
Be Well,
Steve

Director, producer Garry Marshall dies at 81
Garry Marshall, creator of the Happy Days TV show and director of Pretty Woman, has died of complications from a stroke. He was 81.
Marshall, the older brother of actress and director Penny Marshall, created some the most iconic comedy shows on television and later took his talents to the big screen with several hit movies along the way he launched the careers of many actors including Robin Williams, Julia Roberts, Ron Howard, Anne Hathaway, Henry Winkler and also his sister.
In the 1970s, Marshall brought the play and movie The Odd Couple to TV and created Happy Days, before spinning off characters to their own hit shows Lavern and Shirley and Mork and Mindy. The four sitcoms were among the biggest hits of the decade, and Happy Days, with its embrace of 1950s nostalgia, became very influential in a post-Vietnam era.
Over all, he developed 14 television sitcoms and executive produced more than 1,000 half-hour episodes of TV.
Henry Winkler, who shot to fame as "Fonzie" on Happy Days tweeted his gratitude to Marshall "Thank you for my professional life."
As a movie director, his films include The Flamingo Kid, Nothing in Common, Beaches, Runaway Bride, and The Princess Diaries.
His final film, Mother's Day, was released in April. The film brought him back together together with Roberts, the star of Pretty Woman.
"His shows are a gentle, generous, comic mirror held up to late mid-century America," said Writer's Guild of America West president Christopher Keyser in 2014. "And no one is a finer or funnier chronicler of friendship - male or female (or alien)."

Lady Gaga on Taylor Kinney split: We're 'taking a break'
Lady Gaga is setting the record straight on her relationship status with Taylor Kinney.
The 30-year-old singer clarified that she and the 35-year-old actor are "taking a break" after reports Tuesday the couple have ended their engagement.
"Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates. Just like all couples, we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break," Lady Gaga captioned a photo of herself and Kinney on Instagram.
"We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared," she added. "Please root us on. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other."
News outlets had reported Lady Gaga and Kinney split earlier this month after five years of dating. Sources later told E! News the couple's busy schedules and subsequent distance played a role in the break.
"She's working on an album, he's working on his show, they aren't in the same state, it was just hard," an insider said. "They both love each other very much and they want to make it work. It's just been tough with the long distance."
Lady Gaga and Kinney met on the set of the singer's "You and I" music video in 2011 and got engaged in February 2015. The singer last released Cheek to Cheek with Tony Bennett in 2014, while Kinney plays Lt. Kelly Severide on Chicago Fire.

Grey's Anatomy alum T.R. Knight has landed a recurring role on the second season of Shonda Rhimes-produced The Catch.
Shondaland is keeping the details of his role on the show under wraps, according to Hollywood Reporter.
"This has been a thrilling secret to keep!" said Rhimes. "One of my favorite family members is home!"
The series centers on Mireille Enos, played by Alice Vaughan, a private investigator with wealthy clients.
As producer, Rhimes has created a role especially for Knight, Deadline reported.

Knight is thrilled about it, as well. "Working with Shonda, Betsy and Allan (Heinberg) again fills me with immense joy," Knight said. "I am heartened to be returning to Shondaland and excited to work with this exceptional cast!"
Knight was an original cast member on Grey's Anatomy and played the role of George O'Malley for five seasons before his character was killed off, Entertainment reported.
He earned an Emmy nomination for the ABC medical drama before moving on to star on The Good Wife.
