'Fifty Shades of Grey' starts shooting in Canada

Production has begun in Canada on the film adaptation of the erotic bestseller "Fifty Shades of Grey," producer Dana Brunetti announced via Twitter. "Here we go," Brunetti tweeted Sunday, announcing the start of principal photography on the film in Vancouver, B.C. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are to star in the eagerly awaited big-screen adaptation of E.L. James' novel, which is set for release Feb. 13, 2015. Dornan replaced Charlie Hunnam, who dropped out of the project shortly after accepting the role so he could focus on his TV series "Sons of Anarchy."

New Jersey street named for James Gandolfini

Tony Sirico, Dominic Chianese, Vincent Pastore and John Ventimiglia helped dedicate a New Jersey street to their late "Sopranos" co-star James Gandolfini. Also on-hand for the event Sunday were cast members Vincent Curatola and Steve Schirripa; Gandolfini's wife, Deborah Lin, and son, Michael; "Sopranos" director Timothy Van Patten; and hundreds of fans, NorthJersey.com reported. A section of Park Avenue in the Bergen County borough of Park Ridge was named for the actor, who died of a heart attack last summer. He was 51. Gandolfini grew up in Park Ridge and attended Park Ridge High School, the website said.

Paul Walker didn't die in street race, report says

The Porsche in which actor Paul Walker was killed during the weekend was traveling alone at a high speed, the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department said Monday. The "Fast and the Furious" star and his friend, Roger Rodas, were killed Saturday afternoon when the car Rodas was driving smashed into a light pole. "Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station traffic investigators are continuing to document the investigation and have received eyewitness statements that the car involved was traveling alone at a high rate of speed," Variety quoted a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman as saying Monday. "No eyewitness has contacted the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department to say there was a second vehicle. The posted speed limit in the area of the collision is 45 mph." The statement contradicts some media reports saying police are following up on a phone tip that Rodas was racing another car at the time of the crash. Autopsies on the bodies of Walker and Rodas are scheduled for Tuesday, Variety said.

Lindsay Lohan reportedly planning to sue makers of Grand Theft Auto V

Lindsay Lohan's lawyers are preparing to sue the makers of Grand Theft Auto V for using the Los Angeles-based star's image without permission, sources tell TMZ. The celebrity news website said Lohan wants financial damages from Rockstar Games. The video game includes a woman resembling Lohan on the cover. Two episodes in the game also feature women who seem a lot like Lohan. In one, a woman asks a player to help her evade paparazzi and in another, set at a hotel that looks like the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, where Lohan once lived, the goal is to photograph a woman having sex. Lohan, 27, who became a child star at the age of 12 in a Disney remake of "The parent Trap," has become as famous for her personal problems as her career.

It's Roseanne Barr...

Roseanne Barr vows never to work in television again

U.S. comedian Roseanne Barr vowed on Twitter to never work in television again. Barr, 61, starred on the classic sitcom "Roseanne" (1988-97), then served as host of "The Roseanne Show" chat program from 1998 to 2000, appeared on the reality show "Roseanne's Nuts" in 2011 and was the subject of a Comedy Central roast last year. She most recently has been developing a new, as-yet-untitled television show, but her weekend Twitter rant suggested the process is not going well. "I'm never going to work in television again. I'm never going to even attempt it. I feel as if I've been insulted/assaulted for over a year," Barr tweeted Saturday in the first of many online messages. "Actually, for many years -- from my first reality show to my second and two failed development details. Don't call me-I won't call you. I'm gone," she said. "Not ONE word remained of any ideas I had. I was constantly 'corrected' as if I had no track record whatsoever. I'm enraged over all of it. ... I don't have the emotional stability to withstand being manipulated and lied to anymore-now that I'm old. ... Newsflash: Yes, I do have mental health issues. Decent ppl refrain from bullying, lying to, manipulating & taking advantage of ppl like me."
