Here's the Scoop...

There's good news and there's bad news.

The bad news is that 'Fashion Police' on E! is going on hiatus after co-hosts Kathy Griffin and Kelly Osbourne left the show.

The good news is that there won't be any 'Fashion Police' until September - so wear whatever you want! It's going to be a fashion free-for-all for the entire summer. Whoo-hoo!

Be Well,
Steve

'Fashion Police' goes on hiatus after host departures
E! announced Tuesday Fashion Police is taking a hiatus and won't return to television until September.

The move comes less than a week after comedian Kathy Griffin announced she's leaving the show and on the heels of longtime host Kelly Osbourne's departure.

The red carpet fashion critique show was previously scheduled to return March 30.

"We look forward to taking this opportunity to refresh the show before the next awards season," a statement from E! read. "Our talented co-hosts Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, along with executive producer Melissa Rivers, will continue their roles as we evolve the show into its next chapter for the legions of Fashion Police fans around the world."

NBCUniversal Lifestyle Networks Group President Frances Berwick told The Hollywood Reporter three episodes slated to be shot this spring were scrapped altogether. When the show returns in the fall, it will include six or seven episodes tied to major red carpet events like the Emmys.

Osbourne left the show in late February after criticizing fellow host Giuliana Rancic for joking that actress Zendaya's dreadlocks probably smelled like weed and patchouli at the Oscars. Griffin said she left because her style didn't fit with the creative direction of the show.

"I felt like I was being forced to comment about pictures of beautiful women in perfect dresses and say bad things," Griffin said in an interview on The View.

"There's a lot that's frivolous about the whole Oscar, Emmy, Golden Globe parade, and then at the heart of it, there's some great, creative work," Berwick said. "E! is not a network that takes itself seriously.

"To the extent that this has all gotten very intense and serious -- it's meant to be fun. When it stops being fun or if we think that we're offending or crossing a line, absolutely, that's the time to re-evaluate and that's what we're doing, frankly, with things like the mani cam."

Stephen Sondheim on Lady Gaga: Oscars performance 'a travesty'
Lady Gaga failed to win over Stephen Sondheim with her recent Oscars performance.

The 28-year-old singer was widely praised for her tribute to The Sound of Music at the 87th Academy Awards in February, but the acclaimed 84-year-old composer told The London Times he hated the medley.

"She was a travesty," Sondheim declared of the pop star. "It was ridiculous, as it would be from any singer who treats that music in semi-operatic style. She had no relationship to what she was singing. What people liked was her versatility."

Sondheim was mentored by The Sound of Music lyricist Oscar Hammerstein II, and also slammed NBC's production of The Sound of Music Live! as "embarrassingly bad." He himself is known for writing the lyrics to West Side Story, and composed Sweeney Todd and Into the Woods.

Lady Gaga released her third record, Artpop, in November 2013, and last debuted duets album Cheek to Cheek with Tony Bennett in September 2014. The singer and actor Taylor Kinney announced their engagement in February, and Bennett will sing at the couple's wedding.

Jimmy Kimmel, Matthew McConaughey film ad for Austin video store
Jimmy Kimmel has made good on his offer to help a local business during the annual South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas.

The late-night talk show host recently teamed up with Texas native Matthew McConaughey to film three television commercials for Vulcan Video, an Austin video store that sells VHS tapes and DVDs.

In a segment that aired Monday, store owners Byran and Kristen show off their store inventory, which includes sections devoted to "Canadian TV" and "Asian horror."

"I think we have to show people what's so special about this video store other than the fact that it still exists," Kimmel says.

Then Kimmel and McConaughey show off their three commercials, in which they advocate passionately for the old-school store.

"Quit scrollin'. Stop streamin'. Start dreamin' about VHS!" McConaughey says.

Erin Andrews sparks engagement rumors with diamond ring
Erin Andrews ignited engagement rumors Monday.

The 36-year-old Fox sportscaster sparked speculation she is engaged to boyfriend Jarret Stoll by wearing an enormous diamond ring on the season 20 debut of ABC reality competition Dancing with the Stars.

Andrews, however, is not engaged, according to E! News, and simply sported the jewelry for the premiere. The television personality wore a 2.01-carat, asscher-cut diamond ring by Martin Katz on "that finger," and a 1.72-carat, brilliant-cut diamond with 412 accent stones on her right hand.

Andrews and Stoll, a 32-year-old NHL player for the Los Angeles Kings, have been dating since 2012. The sportscaster previously told ABC News she has "definitely dropped hints here and there" to Stoll about getting engaged, but said the ball is in her beau's court.

Andrews competed on season 10 of Dancing with the Stars, and is replacing Brooke Burke-Charvet as a co-host on season 20. Actress Rumer Willis and partner Val Chmerkovskiy earned the highest score on the premiere, and new episodes will air Mondays at 8 p.m. ET.
