Eva Longoria Slams Journalist Who Criticized Eyeglasses Campaign...
Eva Longoria slammed an Australian journalist who criticized her for appearing in an eyeglasses campaign this week on Twitter.

The 40-year-old American actress hit back at Sydney Morning Herald reporter Jenna Clarke after the writer claimed Longoria lied about her vision to land a Specsavers gig in an article published Sunday.

"If you had done your journalistic duty (it's actually not that hard, more thorough google job or one phone call to my camp and they could have provided you any documentation) you would see that I have been wearing READING glasses since May 3, 2013," Longoria wrote Monday.

"The reason your lazy journalist research of 'googling' didn't turn up more pictures of me on the 'red carpet' is because I don't need glasses to see far, only to READ," she continued. "So next time you want to write an article calling someone 'shameful' why don't you do your research because that is your responsibility as a 'journalist.'"

Clarke called the star a "serial offender when it comes to selling out in a not so subtle way," and complained of her "shameful shilling." She subsequently appeared on 96FM Breakfast, saying Longoria had involved her 7 million Twitter followers unnecessarily.

"Well Jenna I didn't appreciate you writing LIES!" the actress responded Tuesday. Longoria promoted Specsavers last week in Auckland, New Zealand, and also has an endorsement deal with French beauty and cosmetics company L'Oreal.

Queen Latifah, Mary J. Blige To Co-star in NBC's 'The Wiz'...
Queen Latifah and Mary J. Blige have joined the cast of the upcoming television production of The Wiz Live!, NBC announced Wednesday.

The special is set to air Dec. 3.

Blige will play Evillene, the Wicked Witch of the West, while Queen Latifah will star as the Wiz, "the mysterious and powerful wizard who holds the keys to the Emerald City, but whose metamorphosis from ordinary to extraordinary is itself a hoax," press notes reveal.

The project reunites Queen Latifah with producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron. The trio previously collaborated on the movie musicals Chicago and Hairspray, as well as the small-screen adaptation of Steel Magnolias.

"We are so happy reuniting with Latifah," Zadan and Meron said in a joint statement. "We've been friends for a long time and we've had quite a lot of success together. To see her play the iconic role of the Wiz and make it her own is going to be one of the joys of producing this event."

"I can't wait to watch Mary bring the badness that is Evillene," added director Kenny Leon. "Her talent range is off the charts and I know audiences won't be able to take their eyes off her."

Stephanie Mills was previously announced to portray Auntie Em in The Wiz Live! Mills is best known to many for playing Dorothy in the original Broadway production of The Wiz.

'Empire' Co-stars Trai Byers, Grace Gealey Engaged...
Empire co-stars Trai Byers and Grace Gealey reportedly got engaged over the weekend.

The 32-year-old actor proposed to the 31-year-old actress at a surprise birthday party he threw in her honor. Gealey turned 31 on Sunday, and celebrated with family and friends at Kinmont restaurant in Chicago, Ill.

"He popped the question and she was totally surprised and elated," an insider told Us Weekly. "She can't stop looking at the ring! They celebrated all night."

"She thought it would just be the two of them going to dinner, but when they got there, he had arranged a party for about 20 of her friends and family members to surprise her," a source added to E! News.

The couple's co-stars, Kaitlin Doubleday, Gabourey Sidibe and Jussie Smollet were in attendance. Gealey can be seen with a large diamond ring on her left hand in a video Sidibe posted of the actress blowing out her birthday cake candles.

Byers and Gealey play Andre Lyon and Anika Calhoun, aka Boo-Boo Kitty, on the Fox musical drama. The pair reportedly felt an immediate connection after meeting on set, and have been linked since attending a wedding together in March.

Empire premiered in January, and will return for a second season in the fall. The series follows music mogul Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) as he contends with his ex-wife (Taraji P. Henson) and three sons (Byers, Smollett and Bryshere Gray) after being diagnosed with ALS.

It's Cara Delevingne... Cara endured an awkward interview with the hosts of Good Day Sacramento Wednesday.

Delevingne, who plays a starring role in the romance film Paper Towns, started the interview by sarcastically remarking that she had not read the script nor the book by John Green of the same title. Shortly after, one of the anchors mistakenly called her Carla, which may have worsened Delevingne's mood, and prompted co-host Mark Allen's question as to whether Delevingne was exhausted or not.

Delevingne said she had just experienced an emotional premiere of the film on Tuesday. Anchor Marianne McClary then asked the model if she was irritated or if her demeanor was the fault of the show, to which the actress replied, "No, I think it's just you." This prompted the interviewers to cut the segment short, with Delevingne mouthing potentially spiteful yet inaudible words under the chatter of the anchors, who criticized Delevingne's attitude as color bars replaced her video feed.

Co-host Allen criticized the fact that even though the actress was paid $5 million for six weeks of work, she couldn't speak on the show with "some oomph."

Paper Towns opened on July 24 to a middling $12.6 million that still marks the film as a hit. Delevingne will also star alongside Will Smith and Jared Leto in the upcoming film Suicide Squad.
